Well I was talking more about the map, being able to see exactly where the vassals are physically located without having to click fifty times.

Twice, you mean.

Four times max.

Click the character portrait of the liege, click vassals, look at their titles. If they have vassals themselves, click their portrait, repeat. If you need to know physical location, click the COA.

No luck so far, I can't find what triggers the appearance of COAs on the map. I've found out a way to change their size though.

can you give us the details to do this please ?

I too find the map lacking information atm. A map mode like the CK1 politcal map with all counts upwards having their COA on it would be nice, some people may like minimalism and find it cluttered but personally I would like this visual information.

Edit the mapitems.gui with notepad (or notepad++), find the coa entries, and change their scale from 0.5 to 1.0 (or 0.7) or whatever.

I don't understand why they think we wouldn't want the gorgeous coa patchwork quilt we've all been using for years ..

Because it clutters the map with a lot of unimportant information, makes it difficult to see county names at a glance, and makes it harder to see lieges?

Because it clutters the map with a lot of unimportant information, makes it difficult to see county names at a glance, and makes it harder to see lieges?

I think knowing how the kingdoms are organized is a very important information. Right now I couldn't see when someone is granted/creating a new title except if I coincidentaly hover over the province. Maybe our playing styles are just different (on a side note: Have you played CK1?) but in the demo I have to click through several menus all the time to get info I saw directly on the map in the first game.

As for the 'map-cluttering' I don't see the problem: The map is almost empty right now, so there's not much what could be concealed by more CoAs.
Of what use is a clear map if I can't really do anything on it but have to go into the menus anyway?
Of course the best solution (but probably also the hardest to implement) would be to make it toggable with a button on the minimap.

Besides it wouldn't really hide anything and lieges would still be easy to spot because their CoAs are a lot bigger. The following picture illustrates how it would more or less look like:

Which is all well and good, but if the county shields are too small you can't read them. If they're too large they'll distract from the duchy shields, and kingdom shields.

I don't have the game yet but I suppose this issue hasn't changed in the full-game?
Are the moddable files exactly the same as in the demo or is there a slight chance this can be modded in the game?

Without wanting to sound like i've not looked, where is this file located? I can find a mapitems directory but not a .gui...

indeed it is mapitem.GFX
