hey ! I don't have my own coat of arms appearing on the map when I play a count ? I need it !
Only the CoA's of the first level of vassals are shown. That means you need to be a direct vassal of the top liege.
In this case, you are a count, vassal of a duke, who at his turn is a vassal of the king. Therefore only the duke's CoA is shown on the map. If the duke becomes independent, you will be a first level vassal, and your CoA will be shown as well.
I find it a lot more confusing the way it is now to be honest, as I need to hover over every province to see if it's directly controlled by a duke or by a lesser ruler in the popup.
I modded the demo so every ruler was a vassal to the king of England so they all appeared on the map: It looked a lot better and makes the map useful again.
I hope the game gets at least an option to toggle it on and off if Paradox doesn't want to make it the default option.
I currently trying to find a way to mod this.
No luck so far, I can't find what triggers the appearance of COAs on the map. I've found out a way to change their size though.
If it's hardcoded, that sucks. Hard.
Well I was talking more about the map, being able to see exactly where the vassals are physically located without having to click fifty times.
