how do i switch a country through an event? can someone write me an example event where if Greece annexes Turkey that Greece itself will switch to the Byzantine Empire using tag U13.

the event itself would be easy (just use the type = country which = [TAG] command), but the command itself is bugged. When you switch tags your current research goes on with the old (Greek in your example) tech teams instead of the new ones. So any techs you were researching will never complete (which means you can never research beyond them). You would have to either manually go into the save game and delete those research projects or remember to stop all research before the event fired.

Wouldn't help. The sleep_team command doesn't immediately remove the team...it waits until it is completed with any current project.

So the sleep_team command is pretty much "when your finished with the project your fired" is that how it is?

wow well thanks for the help i do have a little small problem. the Event works fine it switches from Greece to Byzantium but after it does it crashes. Whats the cause of it?

If so, have you been given any Expeditionary Forces?
Have you taken Military Control of any of your allies?
Are you currently at war with someone?
Do you have forces in their territory (or them in yours)?

yes, yes, yes, and yes wow you must be a spy :p so i guess those would be the issues of the crash eh?

Could be...usually the expeditionary forces cause the crash. Happens with a lot of peace treaties when you make a member of an alliance your puppet...if they have given expeditionary forces to a alliance member the game will crash.
