Siberia is in, but will maybe be changed. There's alist somewhere in the revolter thread (page 4 IIRC) wich is posted by Zeus123. Also, Chechnya are also added as a revolter. There's also a list first in the revolter thread wich all of them are included. We still need a desc. for Russia.

After the fall of the the sovjet union russia have had huge economical problems, the economy was drained on foolish army projekts. Russia have a huge area and many resourses but are not able to utilize them. Russia have also had many internal problems with groups which wants freedom. The mafia is also a huge problem and the corruption is widespread.

Strategy
You have a huge nation with huge potential. You can sucsede in if you turn inwards and work to exploit your nations posibilities. You could also gain power by trying to reunite the Sovjet union by diplomatic means. A war on conquest can be succsesfull but be carefull since the western european nations have much better armies then you.

Finland

Finland is famous mainly for their russian wars in which they shown that they are fierce warriors. The Finnish winter war is used as a example of how effective operations behind emeny lines can be. Russia won the war but the price was so high that it really shows that "war have no winners". After the Russian wars Finland was left as a poor eastern european nation but that situation have changed and Finland is now almost as rich as the rest of scandinavia.

Strategy

Your huge eastern nighbour will likely attemt to invade you, you must work to either join their alliance or seek aid in the West. You have great relations with the other Scandinavian nation, specially sweden and they might help you.

1991

Uzbekistan became independant just days ago, this young nation has a old history with the mongols who lived in Bukhara and Samarkand. The Mongols rule was however ended when the russians invaded in the middle of the 19th century. Since then the area have beenn reformed greatly, the farming have changed from food corps to cotton and the mining have been greatly dveloped. But even after this dvelopment, or maybe because of this dvelopment Uzbeckistan is a poor nation not capable of supporting its own population.


2002

Uzbekistan have been under the rule of President Islam Karimov ever since the nation was freed in 1991. Initially there were many border disputes betveen the new nation and its nighbours about the unclear borders drawn in Moscow. These was however cleared and now Uzbekistan have good relations with their nighbours. The realtions with the western world have however been worsened after reports that torture and executions are often used as punishment for crimes.



Strategy

'91
Uzbekistan is extremly poor, however your nighbours are so to, and they are often smaller then you. You can wage a war on conquest and justify it with the bad borders drawn by moscow when we were freed. It is unlikely that we will sucsede in anything else then a war of conquest since we are to poor even for improving our industries notably.


'02
Uzbekistan is a poor nation surrounded by other poor nations, there is not much that can be done here in central asia, you can no longer justify a war against any of your nighbours. Your relations with your nighbours are good now, perhaps you can persude them into a union, the diplomatical game seams to be your way to sucsess.

Description

Strategy
With a strong economy but weak military,Cyprus has to choose its alliances wisely.Unable to defend itself against Turkey for long,Cyprus has to avoid early crisis and increase its strength.

2001

Description
With minimal army but good economic power,Cyprus is a step away from the EU.If the island can avoid turkish attacks for a little,it will greatly profit in the future.

Strategy
Cling to EU for strong alliance and possible military aid.Be careful.Overextension of efforts in the foreign relations field(especially with Turkey),might lead to catastroph.Avoid early challengin and plan for the future.

1991 and 2001

A country with a long history, Egypt has vast potential in all fields. Egypt has strong armies and may well need them. Expand into Libya and make alliances wth Syria, Lebanon and perhaps Iraq or Iran. The eventual war to free Palestine is coming, and must bide your time to prepare. Arab unity is the way to victory.

Suggestions and questions to country descriptions

I want to make few points to Finland description.

Don't write about Winter War. Ok, it may be strategicly and
historically interesting but it was over 60 years ago. Finland is also on the same level with Sweden but little lower than Norway so comparing Finland with Scandinavia ain't right.

I can't think of any reason why the Russians would like to attack
Finland. If they would attack somewhere, Baltic states or other areas where there is lots of the Russians would be a much better goal. I don't know how to put this into the game.

Here is my suggestion:

Finland 1991

Finland was for centuries occupied by Sweden and then became an autonomy under Russia. Following the independence Finland suffered a civil war between democrats and communists. Democrats won and Finland managed to stay independent thru II World war and cold war. Same time Finland became wealthier and now they don't have to be anymore afraid because communist threat has ended.

Strategy

Now you are finally freely to decide your destiny. Your country is rich and has good relations with everyone, but now you are facing the deepest recession of your history. You can join EU and became friends with everyone or you can stay totally independent. Degardless of what you do keep your eyes open and build your economy and country slowly waiting for opportunities to come.


Finland 2002

Finland is stronger than ever, due to good politics it's economy is at the same level as richest Western European countries. It is very much into the European Federation and has extremly good relations with Western countries.


Strategy

You can still build your economy and good relations with everyone but you can also start building some muscles for your country. Don't overestimate your chances though.

I hope that Lars don't mind my comments. After all, it's my country.

Estonianzulu, what do you mean by saying that Estonia didn't became fully independent before 1994? And I don't think that their new government would be less radical than previous one. At least my buddies in Reform Party Youth were very happy to see this government formed.

Royalist, according to what study you are saying that you are fourth most prospering nation in the world? I guess you are better than Sweden and Finland (in purchasing parity index, not real GDP) but not fourth, maybe something like tenth in Europe.

I'm new for EU II, so I hope I don't suggest anything too stupid.

I don't think your desc are stupid, it's best to hear it from one from the country.

Not sure if Belgium is the fourth most prosperious nation in the world, all I know is that Canada finished 3rd, Sweden 2nd and Norway 1st (of course). The UN is the ones that says this every year, I'll see if I find something about this.

Maybe we shouldn't depend on nationals for descriptions.I think it is quite propable we don't have nationals of every state in the community .
