Hey,
I just watched the weekly WWW stream and i was thinking about what has been said by the devs.

-> it is possible to controll a country with more than one player, for example one can controll a specific theater (army?). This might be very usefull when managing a large country like the UDSSR.

How does this work? how easy or complicated will it be? what exactly can u seperate for different players to control? I´d love to see a dev diary about this:)!
PS: Correct me if i´m wrong but i thought this has not been discussed much

I'd hope it'd be a shared control of the production/diplomacy/whatever, with units split between the players. Presumably divided up by armies or theatres.

No not like that. It was possible in HOI3 also. It was simply two or more players controlling the same things. The result was by agreement that either was in charge of production, diplomacy and other things and they split theatres between them and controlling the units they each had in the theatre assigned to the player.

Players make an agreement between themselves what they do.

I had a multiplayer match in HoI2 when I was one of two players controlling Britain.

I oversaw the African theater and basically asked for units, which the other player decided if I could have. He was doing air war over Britain and the naval aspects of the war, as well as research and production. I was added later into the game when the micro management was overwhelming him, as Italy had reached Rhodesia.

All players have full controll over the country. You have to make house rules for who does what. You arent limited to a certain task by the game itself.

It works the same way in all paradox GSG aswell. Podcat also would like to develop more features for that mode later on.

Yeah, coop is possible, just like in HOI3 if you allow it when you set up your MP match. I am slightly hesitant to call it a full feature though as there isnt really any support for restricting access in these cases except for house rules (the General COULD have also started helping out with other fronts). Its something I'd love to develop more features around in future expansions though if multiplay of the type becomes popular.

This seems very cool. It would be really exciting to have an overall leader, and 1 or two generals who control the fronts and the military. They obvioulsy petition the leader for all their stuff ina RP type setting type thing. With good enough house rules, it would be fun for everyone and still be engaging.

This actually sounds like a LOT of fun! Especially when first playing online, i would love to roleplay as a commander of a front and only one front alone. Asking for more supplies, begging the fuhrer for more troops etc
