Countries you protect, and countries you love to see destroyed

The countries I try to protect/ always root for in wars are:

Bavaria : Any who's read my AAR should have guessed this

Lorraine: During my first game that was the faithful ally that stuck by my side.

Countries I hate with a passion! excluding all the big countries because well they just interfere :

Denmark: Treacherous SoB's who I hate with a burning desire!

China: They store up everything and unload on you big time.

Countries I love:
I always root for the little breakaway nations...I befriend them, make alliances and royal marriages with them, and then send them loan after loan Some of my favourites are:
-Burgundy (from France)
-Lorraine (from Helvetia or France)
-Navarra (from Spain)
-Catalunya (Spain)
-New Spain (Spain)
-Transylvania (Hungary or France)
-Provence (France)

Countries I hate:
Although I root for most breakaway nations, I absolutely
cannot stand the Netherlands. Every time I see those rebels pop up in the 1550's, I know that if they win, trouble's-a-coming. They snatch up all the unsettled provinces, they make constant war (In one game I played they were at war with at least one other nation for over sixty consecutive years - their war exhaustion was maxed out at +10), and they are unreliable allies. Worst of all, they have a tendency to make massive armies come from nowhere - a big 50,000 troop army will just emerge from nowhere and wreak havoc on your armies.

I also cannot stand Poland-Lithuania - they like to get involved in European wars in which they have no interests, and end up settling for a white peace or some reparations. They're too far away from most countries to be reliable allies, yet if they declare war on you they will always attack your rear (if you play as Austria). That is why, when I play as Austria, I always like to subjugate them before I annex Hungary...Hungary provides valuable support vs. P-L, and I wind up encircling Mazovia.

Papal states also annoy me, especially when my King makes his top priority a royal marriage with them

I love...Sweden, England, the Netherlands with a passion. I thoroughly hate Denmark and Russia. Poland too.

Love: Sibir, Brittany, Eire, England, ...er... Greece, Byzantium if it's there, any of the German minors that go after France.

Hate: Persia, Turkey, France, Spain, Poland (unless they're my allies), definitely the Netherlands, Turkey, the T.O.(I hate that they're so small but still have 2 CoTs!), China, Turkey, did I mention I hate Turkey?

Well I played Cologne when I was a newbie. Took over 4 NPCs and kinda got crushed by France and a few others...

I don't like France very much now. I don't like those damn buggers...Other than that, I don't think that I "hate" any nation really...

I don't think any country makes either list for me (only because Ireland doesn't exist in the GC)*. Currently, I've made an alliance with Burgundy when it declared independence from France (I'm Russia), and until I'm good and ready to annex them myself, they're perfectly safe from everyone else. This because I have no intention of ever calling on their aid, until I'm ready for them to say no thus giving me a CB. Have I mentioned before on this forum that I'm being very Machiavelian this game?

I know, they named it 'Great Britain', but I've always called it 'Ireland'. Enjoying the game play is far more important than winning.

I like France while i was playing as Morroco it was a very loyal ally to me.

My nations:

Netherlands! Sure they can be SoB's... but since 1998 I've been obsessed with the Dutch (I have no clue why). I've made it with 'richelieu' so The Netherlands would get independent when they normally wouldn't

Eire: As a breakaway nation of course... good fun! I am 50% Irish...

Navarra: Dunno why. It's pretty cool, I guess. It's just so small... so cute

Helvectica... Helvetica... whatever: I love their present day neutrality!
I've also had them get 2 provinces off Austria & beascanon (off Portugal I think... which got that off France...), proving them to also be able to open a can of whoop-*obscenity* I think I'm gonna change my shield to H... whatever... Switzerland! Plus, they're always devoted allies... usually to France.

Sweden: It's funny when they build up quite the large colonial 'empire' in America!

Spain: Always taking all the good colonies, and hogging all of the Americas. I know that happened in real life, but I mean c'mon!

New Spain: They're pagan... somehow. AND they're always SO SMALL. 2 whole countries! Grrrr... mostly I like breakaway countries but this one is just SO annoying.

I like more countries then I hate I guess...

Yes, indeed! I would say that this is a nice little question to ponder and peruse to our little collective hearts' content. But do I really have a fav? Hmmm. I've come nowhere near playing all the possibilities yet. I have so little game time anymore, and right now it requires that I be at home and on my ONLY home system, which I share with the entire family and I have a daughter who has discovered not only email but instant messaging as well so I almost have to fight for my chance at the keyboard.

I like England. I am partial also to Russia and Sweden. Spain is OK, but kinda hard for me to get really excited about. I've been reading library books about Imperial Spain to help get caught up with their history.

I started a Fantasia game with the Iroquios recently and it has been fun. It is still barely into the 1500's so I haven't met anybody else yet. I'm simply colonizing and fighting local natives, but they have already reached the Eastern Seaboard and starting to build up a navy of galleys, and research has enabled them to start setting up trading posts all around. So, I like the Iroquois - so far. But that's more info than you wanted.

I like the small Germanic states. Brandenburg, Prussia, and so forth.

I'm not partial to France. Nor do I get real excited about Poland, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, etc. But I haven't played them yet, either.

I have no usual hated or prefered countries, in fact it varies in each game (currently I hate Sweden, Denmark and Turkey).

But in general I tend to protect Austria, Lorraine and the Papal States; I don't know why, but I don't like when these nations disappear (except when I make them become a part of my empire, of course ).

Navarra (grrrr, would be Spain, but I just can't get a Casus Belli to crush this thing). =P

I always get sad when Austria loses a province, even if they have annexed half of everything and most of the rest as well. Russia has the same place in my heart, as does England and Hesse.

I really disslike Poland, as it is just large and ugly. It just exists. Blergh to it. The Golden Horde and Crimea are at a similar position. Countries which do not really deserve to exist, but which are generally either too large or too far away for me to conquer (I mainly play German states or France).

The favourite rebel is Ukraine, if only because it is so very rarely they come into existance. Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, New Spain and similar (i.e. those derived from Spain, plus Corsica) annoy me for some reason, but I cannot put down a rational reason for this. Maybe that Corsica has what looks like an indian for flag.
