So, if you want to do a world conquest, which country or countries is doable in your opinion?
In my experience, this is valid.
Any addons to that?
And how do you rank the countries?
Cheats: I allow myself to alter the slidersat beginning, nothing else.
Allies allowed (except those in alliance from the beginning):
-As China (any) Japan.
-As Japan, Nat China as puppet.
As Germany/Italy the Balkan states and Italy/Germany.
My list:
1. USA
Industrial power number 1, good manpower, good tech teams.
No big drawbacks really.
2. Germany
Best allround tech teams, good manpower (especially if you use ministerbonuses), the manpower can be an issue though.
Good IC.
3. USSR
The big red blob.
Good IC, really good manpower, ok techteams, but not as good as those other top 5 has, bad initial Navy+ techs.
4. U.K. and Japan.
Yes, can't separate them.
Quite similar both in MP and IC. Both have good tech teams, UK a bit better in allround terms, both need to build IC to compete with the top 3.
Both have a good initial Navy and techs.
Manpower can be an issue though.
6. China, both Nat and Com.
Best manpower of them all, worst tech teams of them all.
Though, after beating Japan you can just go West and conquer everything, since neither USSR, the Allies and the Axies can withstand your MP-pool in the long run. Just wear them out.
Conquering America can be a bit tricky though, and there is where the allying Japan option is tempting. Japan will eventually accept an alliance proposal, especially if you have 200 relations, and Japan is loosing against the USA/Allies.
8. France
If you can survive and conquer Germany and Italy, France will really become
a major power, with holdings around the world.
Manpower is an issue, but will grow after Germany and Italy is conquered.
Dull tech teams, you need to plan your research to keep up with others.
9. Italy
IC is an issue, manpower is an issue, good strategical position in the start.
A challenge to play, due to the wide selection of strategies to choose, and notably weaker than the top 8 in almost every area, but has a very good potential if handled correctly.
Apart from the above countries I don't see other countries with WC as a realistic goal, without major cheating. I have tried Brazil and Spain, but the national manpower is simply too low to challenge for WC in the long run.
