My wife liked paradox games before we got hitched so we've done quite a few co-op campaigns. Recent patches Naples/Burgundy and Savoy/Poland were really fun.

Also a less intuitive but prolly most fun run was Chagatai/Lithuania.

The only downside is that if the Aragon player wants to form Spain, the Portuguese player will now be in the way if they took any Castilian land in the war.

Not necessarily. You don't need the whole of Spain to form it, just specific provinces. Avoid those ones and it won't be an issue.

S we are still playing the osame game but she switched countries in the middle to France she's doing pretty good running around in Africa and we're having fun. The reason she switched is she ruined the ottomans but I think she is learning from her mistakes. I'm pretty close to dislodging Denmark from the European coast. Wee having fun I really want to play as France lol.

Mamluk/Ottomans is pretty cool too because you can split the world for your conquests (Africa and Asia for Mamluk and Europe for Ottomans) and if you play mamluk, you can take Spain's et Portugal's provinces.

The issue with Mameluke/Ottomans is that Ottomans get a TON of missions to wipe the Mamelukes out.

You’re either teaching the new player to ignore missions and their rewards if they play Ottomans and the veteran is Mameluke. Or you’re teaching them to downplay/ignore the risk of having large powerful rivals next door if they play Mameluke and the veteran is Ottomans.

Neither are good habits for newbies to get into, it will set them up for a lot of pain later.

But that’s just my opinion.
