Anyone else seeing this? By the beginning of 1942:

-Every major power has thousands upon thousands upon thousands of planes.

-Navies have almost disappeared. Every major power (including USA) will have maybe 30 ships, except the UK which will have maybe 100 ships

Something funky is happening. I guess AI is not focusing enough effort on naval production and is focusing too much on aircraft production

Airplanes are produced steadily and are shot down at a slow and gradual rate. If you produce planes faster than they are shot down, they will accumulate.

Ships are slow to build and can sink easily in large naval battles. The equilibrium state for navies thus is going to swing in the smaller direction, assuming there are still naval battles to be fought.

Yes, but the game is supposed to attempt to model history, correct? As far as I know the major nations couldn't put 8,000 fighters in the air at the same time, especially not in 1941/1942

You do make a good point that planes are shot down slowly. IMO planes should be shot down much, much faster. Currently, if two nations are fielding say 1000 fighters vs 1000 fighters, only 5 or six get shot down each day, which is way too low IMO

In addition, speed and agility should have much much higher benefits, currently you can hold off fully upgraded variant fighter 3's using only 3 or 4 times their amount in interwar fighters. 100 fighter 3's should be able to shoot down 1,000 interwar fighters (if not more) in just 2 or 3 days

Paradox nerfed air battles, because in 1.0 air battles were bloodbath. I remember as Italy loosing 1000 planes (fighter 1+variants) just in 2 weeks and couldn't replace loses even running 30 factories.

I understand slow battles for evenly matched fighters. But for upgraded fighter 3's vs interwar fighters? A P-51H or Supermarine Spiteful vs biplanes? That would be shooting fish in a barrel. That would be like mowing down a medieval swordsmen charge with machine guns. Not only should the fighter 3's kill them fast, but they should take no casualties except accidents.

Interwar fighters should never, ever, ever shoot down fighter 3's. Effectiveness of the aircraft should be much, much more dependent on speed and agility
