It depends on what you like. A lot of people love HOI4, I think the Hearts of Iron series are the most boring series of them all.
If remember correctly a lot of people hated on EU4 when it was released, as well as CK2. Claiming it is the worst game out of all games.
Got 352 hours on CK2 and 646 on EU4.
Am I hyped? Yes, will I be disappointed on some aspects? 100%, will it be a bad game? Doubt it. Paradox doesn't make bad Grand Strategy Games.
Isn't it Fallout 1-2 the best game ever?? Oh wait Warhammer: Dark Omen was better. Or its Dune: The Battle for Arrakis... Oh, its definitely Centurion: Defender of Rome!
Rome is where it all started and sure thing to be the best theme.

Imperator won't be the best game ever at release. But it doesn't mean it has to be awful either. Getting hyped is just hurting yourself with crazy expectations.

WoW "the best game ever"? So is it that Imperator has already known, gamebreaking exploits like the "all citizen strategy" before it's even released, what qualifies it for the best game ever?
Best era, best map, best political/diplomatic/war system, at 1.1 two consuls!!!
For me personally I disagree, I:R is more along the lines of what ive been wanting mechanics wise, plus im crazy about the time period. One never knows of course but in my case anyway I feel good with the hype train.
edit: though I guess saying it will be the best game ever before you have played may be a little nuts lol I never said that.
Well best Era is really a matter of taste. I would say the price for best politics, goes still to EU4. And you really think Romes War System is better as HOI4? I don't think so...
p.s. Imperator Rome = Germanic War Elephants..... nuff said.
Well considering EU4 has no politics at all...
EU4 has only diplomacy going on. Politics are nonexistent and that its biggest issue.
It is a pretty damn good game, if you ask me. I'd be hyped as heck if I was you
