There is a difference between buggy and room for improvement...
Remember HOI1? When that got delivered, the Soviet AI would let 1 cavalerie division of Romania run through the entire southern part of Russia, simply because it went so fast it was practically uncatchable. 1 simple patch about 1.5 months later got rid of those initial breakers that made it unplayable. Obviously we moved away from such bugs, but just as a reminder. Beter playable, meaning that if you run a complete hands-offs, you get more or less historical results more or less most times, not Russia in Berlin in 1942 constantly nor Germany in Vladiwostok in 1942 constantly...

I'm already losing sleep due to anticipation. If I knew that date was firm, I would schedule vacation time. 
My vote is to release it on September first so it can come out on the 70th aniversary of WW2.
Well, August 4th (1936) was the date Ioannis Metaxas became dictator in Greece.
And when everyone expected that he would support Axis in the war (since he was dicator too) he said NO on October 28 1940 to Italy's demand to take over strategic parts of our land so they can fight in the war and thus we got in the war (and guess everyone knows how successful Italians were before Germans came over!) :rofl:
Anyway, that could be a nice date if we are not in holidays.

It is a computer game release, I am not exactly counting on 8/4 as a firm date. It could be September.
I want this game SO SO SO SOOOOO BAD.
I try to keep telling myself things like "you will be fired and your girlfriend will break up with you, and you probably won't even notice" and "it'll be so buggy you'll spend more time complaining on the forums than playing" and so on, but it matters not. Paradox could release the Alpha to me right now for $200, and I would buy it.

I don't think any Paradox game was ever delayed for actual development reasons (as Paradox pretty much keeps developing the game for a year after its release). I think HoI2 got delayed by a week or two, but I don't think it had anything to do with development. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm 99% certain that I will have my hands on it on August 4th, which is fast approaching (since this thread started, it's been a WEEK and a HALF. I.e., we're at 15% complete. Scary stuff.
hoi2 was moved 3 months from an october to a january release actually.
