Count to a duchy

Im playing as Dublin with my Countess and under her i have Dublin, Leinster, Kildare, ossory, Ormond and Desmond. however shes still a countess and i have had a message thing pop up at the top to make a country a Duchy? what do i have to do?

Click it and click create in the window that pops up.

wait, i was meant to put i HAVENT had a message to make it a duchy.

Click on one of the county titles, check the box that says de jure and the duchy coat of arms will pop up in the window. Click that and see if create is greyed out. Try it for every county until you find a duchy you can create.

Well with Ormond and Desmond you SHOULD get it, check if you have the usurp duchy message instead of the regular create duchy one.
