Could we please get a Mac OS X version of Victoria 2?

Dear Paradox,

it saddens me to see that there is no Mac OS X version of Victoria 2. Could you please find it in your hearts and at some point in the future bring the greatness that is Vicky2 to the Mac?

Virtual programming released Vicky 2 for OS X back in September of 2010, and both AHD and HoD in 2012 and 2013, respectively. To my knowledge, they are all still available on the App Store.
Fair warning: I don't believe the new 3.0.4 Beta patch is available for OS X.

I'm playing the OS X version of V2 right now. It's on the App Store. No, you can't get the new patch on it, and sounds like you never will. Sucks, but that's life. Still a lot of fun.

GamersGate has the Mac version and both expansions too.
A little werid since they stopped working with Paradox, but maybe not for Mac...

I don't have a Retina display, but I'm running it on El Capitan, and it runs fine. Newer versions of OS X actually fixed graphical glitches I used to get a few years ago.

I'm in the same boat as I use Linux. As the current Clausewitz engine is Mac and Linux compatible I highly doubt they'd do any additional work on the older engine for Victoria 2, but more likely would be a Victoria 3 for cross platform play as Paradox are amazing for that now.

EDIT: It runs in WINE anyway, so not much of an issue.

I have bought Vic2 and both expansions in the Apple AppStore. The 3 are independent downloads in independent folders and different app packages, and I think I did run A Heart of Darkness without installing Victoria 2 vanilla and A House Divided, so you could try to buy just HoD expansion (the one you need to play PDM mod, or PoD, as it's called when it runs on HoD).

In order to access the Vic2 forums in here (and get the 3 icons in your account) you will need to write to Virtual Programming support to ask for the keys, since they do not appear in the appstore bill nor in the game. You send them the billing info and they provide the keys to register the game and expansions here.

I run HoD v3.03 (QRPE) with PoD since the day that I figured out which PDM was good for me and managed to install it. PDM and APD (PDM for aHD) are no longer supported for their creators. You can get the latest PoD for v3.03 here.

Don't know how it runs in Retina displays, but it runs perfectly in my MBAir mid 2013 (i7, 8GB, 13" 1440x900).

Thank you, that sounds pretty good! Guess I could give Vicky 2 another go then – this time on the Mac.

Although I haven't played with mods before, I shall have a look at those before I start.

BTW, I just found out that there are also Mac ports for EU:Rome and March of the Eagles in the App Store. Both made by Virtual Programming. Might give them a try...

It's a bit of a hassle, registering in VPLTD support in order to be able to contact them for the keys, but the response is quick and it's the only way to get the keys from that seller (provided you bought Vic2 in the Mac AppStore).
