I don't think so personally. Tree bloom and light coming from the edges of houses seems a little unrealistic.

A night lighting setting would be cool though. Even if my city was in a state of perpetual night to make it work, it would still be cool to look at.

No, I don't think so - but now I want snow on rooftops, leaves on the railway lines (and the havoc it would cause) and puddles in roads splashing pedestrians. :)
