(Heh OK, I feel awkward 'cause I suck at this AAR business, so I'll just jot down a couple of important English events for those who weren't there.)
England 1530-1540
Englands colonial politics were successful during this time and its presence in North America was made permanent. An agreement with the refined King of France also granted the English rights to use French outposts in the exploration of the New World.
The marital problems of King Henry VIII resulted in a ultimatum by the dying Pope Clemens VII. Skillful manipulation by members of the court persuaded the King not to falter but to keep true to the Catholic fait. This resulted in, not only, improved relations with the Papal Sates and Spain but also in a greater affinity between the King and Queen Catherine.
England had gone to great lengths to reconcile with the Pope and had no intention of waging a war against the Holy Father when alliance member Genoa, in 1538, declared war on the Papal States. But as warmongering Hessen entered the war England saw its chance to bring stability to northern Germany. As Hessen was facing defeat at the hands of mighty French and English forces they agreed to release their tyrannic hold on Bremen and its management was temporarily turned over to the English Crown.
