Golden India

The conquest of Jaunpur, initiated in 1536, went well even though the Oriat Horde, the leader of the enemy coalition and an unexpected participant in the conflict, proved far tougher than it's allies. After three years they were ready to admit defeat and the Empire became a single unity with the incorporation of Jaunpur as well as the eastern parts of Assam. This proved to be final gift this magnificent Raya was to give his people; he passed away in in 1543 after 45 years of service on the throne.

He was succeeded by Venkata II who started a series of campaigns designed to weaken Malwa, that longtime rival who had now found themselves almost surrounded by Vijayanagara. Taking a few provinces at a time and forcing them to release minor nations, they were eventually weakened to the point where a final war would bring them firmly under Imperial control. Somewhere along the line the small nation of Mewat became occupied by Vijayanagara forces under somewhat confusing circumstances, but it was generally agreed that their addition to the Empire was in the best interest of all.

During this time parts of Madagascar were colonized, with the pitiful resistance put up by the natives quickly handled without trouble. The incorporation of the new provinces as well as the conversion of Islamic provinces proceeded smoothly despite numerous minor rebellions (quite understandable given the quick expansion). The technological advances were however slower than desirable, and the Raya had his advisers look into the many reforms Ayutthaya, the somewhat accomplished neighbor to the east, was implementing.

The Raya observed that Dehli had become weakened by, quite helpfully, engaging Malwa in clashes in between the Vijayanagara campaigns. They were not very strong to begin with, as well as an eyesore the maps (located in the middle of the Empire as they were), so even relatively good relations were no excuse and invasion ensued. Venkata II, far from a young man at his rise to the throne thanks to the longevity of his predecessor, died soon thereafter leaving the Empire in the hands of a regency council due to the young age of the Heir. They were however more than competent enough to deal with such a small conflict and a peace was negotiated, giving the Empire half of Dehli, even before the crowning of Sriranga I after only two years. The easternmost province of Assam, who for some reason joined in shortly before being completely annihilated in a war with Ayutthaya, was included as a bonus.

The new Raya, although young, quickly seized Gondwana (whom Malwa had been forced to release) and began the short final conquest of Malwa, ending after only one year with them now a proper vassal of the Empire. He also began the integration of Golkonda, who finally were ready to join Vijayanagara in law as well as in spirit. The next logical step will be to, hopefully peacefully, vassalize the only remaining independent parts of Malwa (released as long gone enemy ot Gujarat). The lovely golden lands of the Empire are spreading over the Indian continent...

Kapitel 4:
Dansa Blå Marionett, Dansa!

I Januari 1537 satt prinsen i Florens i djupa tankar.

In 1565 Milan was waiting for France to go to war with hopefully as many neighbors as possible so that Milan might have a chance to weaken France a bit. Since all expansion routes were closed by Friendly neighbors (except for in the north) France was the only viable option apart from Swizerland which the King of Milan had vassalization prospects for. Suddenly the aggressive Bavarians started war against Switzerland, whom we certainly had to defend, lest we would have no expansion possibilities at all.

The war went very well and Switzerland, Austria and Milan won several major battles agains the Bavarians and his allies. Soon the battlescore reached upwards 50% and without major losses the King of Milan went back so that the Bavarians may recuperate. It was only a defensive war after all.

Some time went and with the army mostly intact the King of Milan noticed that France was weakend in war against Prussia. The timing was not perfect but what ever is, so we started war and besieged several French towns. The French retaliated but we won a major battle against them in French territory. Their manpower was vast however and soon there were armies upwards 60.000 massing our sieges. The French were not as crippled as we had hoped and a defensive war was started. A huge battle was fought in the Alps with the Milanese defender fighting bravely. Both sides kept sending in reinforcements and both sides were down at ~5% morale for a long while, none wishing to surrender. After God only know how long the Milaneese broke their positions and fled. With no time to rebuild the army this was when the Bavarians, whom we let be so that they wouldn't loose too much, invaded us while the French started siege our cities. The betrayal was immense.

This was not all however, after making an expensive peace with France, the Bavarians had the stomach to demand that we break up our land. We were stunned, had they not noticed that we pulled out of the war in their favour? A war they had no right to start in the first place and which we could have kept on fighting and were winning overwhelmingly? In retrospect a larger Switzerland on Bavarias expense seems like the better option. In a verbal agreement we managed peace but overall we learnt that they are deceitful beyond what our honest selves might ever have imagined.

The unfortunate war with Venice, ended quickly, for lands lost Bavaria received a few ducats of which they sourly needed and Venice easily could afford.

Bavaria declared war on Switzerland, seeking to reclaim what was lost in the last war, Austria and Milan answered. By sheer force and luck they invaded Bavarian land burning and killing thousands.
Though the numbers were in their favor they could not hold it, after a while the Milan forces fled south no doubt trying to save manpower and money, why risk your own lives when you could send others to die for you?

In time Austria was crushed, and it was time to bring the war to the Milan front. Finding little resistance thanks to the ever so clever Milan, thinking that France was weak they had launched an invasion against them, normal Milan tactic fight only when your enemy is busy elsewhere and weakened. It backfired. France with their war, and Bavaria with their crushed Milan like an insect under a boot. A peace deal was made and Milan was forever weakened.

Suddenly the world began to spin, and everything went foggy, the king of Bavaria found the whole world had been cast back in time.
(yes the war had to be played out again, and the cost was enormous. A new peace deal was made lets call it a deal of mercy and hope for the future.)

Later on Austria was in war on all fronts, remembering their past offenses Bavaria took this opportunity to declare war!,
Prussia the ever so strong and mighty declared that they would protect Austria, atleast from Bavaria. After losing more than 30 000 men the Bavarians lost the lust for battle and signed a peace deal with Austria
Luckily just in time to save the Swedes army´s from getting crushed by Prussia.

Licking their wounds and fearing for the future Bavaria received a message, the pope now listens to your advice and we believe the spell of
"Reading a peace deal or any contract whatsoever before signing is something even a halfwit could figure out," was cast in Tuscany,
we heard sorceress chant "klant Per, Klant Per" and thus we have excommunicated the ruler of Tuscany, even if he had nothing do with the spell it was still done in his land.

After this a short war of punishment was started against the minor states of Europe, and that war went well. But suddenly Milan decided to join the war against, Bavaria was stunned had they not learned their lesson?
Milan land was soon flooded with their enemies, should mercy one again be given?

Brandenburg/Prussia AAR 5 - Battles, battles, battles and more battles (of the empire)
The year of our lord 1565

Bavaria decided it was time to leave the coalition against Prussia in early january 1565. Probably since they had been the only member for atleast 5 years.
y1bA5oh.jpg

Albrecht Achilles IV Emperor of the Holy roman empire, King of Prussia, Duke and Elector of Brandenburg, Protector of the north border was not convinced the Bavarians old hatred for justice had simply vanished overnight and decided to increase the border patrols and put the army on standby.

Messengers of Polish and Lithuanian border raids in the Duchy of Mazovia made Albrecht full of fury and was the beginning of a long and bloody war. The French and Hungarians decided to side against the empire while the Swedish King saw the truth of the Polish-Lithuanian border aggressions and joined Prussia.

The Polish army had abandoned the raids and were now in full siege of the Duchys capital of Wizna.
They had not anticipated the Prussian army beeing able to assemble fast enough to disrupt the siege.
They were wrong.
vrDkdHt.jpg

The Prussian army marched north to meet up with the forces of Novgorod and Finland.
The Lithuanians had put great effort into avoiding open battle and had instead marched west to meet up with a great force of Hungarians, French and a newly trained polish mercenary army.
The enemy forces engaged to numberly inferior Prussian army at the battle of Ostpreussen.
Heavy losses at both sides, and General Heinrich von Dessau was about to be overwhelmed when the Swedes arrived at the last minute.
The battle was thus won.
brtKzPL.jpg

The remaining french troops fled to the province of Semigalia were they were annihilated.
m0hx8zl.jpg

Just in time another huge French and hungarian army engaged the weary prussian forces at the battle of Samogitia.
SrNTP9n.jpg

Several smaller battles and skirmishes followed during a couple of years before the last two major battles of the war took place at Moravia and Bohemia.

Lithuania were forced to cede the provinces of Semigallia, Riga, Livland and Kiev.
Kiev was released as a vassal to protect the ruthenian population the new state was named Ukraine.

The population of Reval and Ösel rebelled shortly afterwards and joined Finland.

Albrecht was content for now, but the Muscovites envoy arrived after only a war of peace declaring they would not stand for a Ukrainian state and that it was an insult towards the honour of the Czar!
Not long after the envoys visit the Ukrainian vassal called for the support of Prussia and was was once again upon the eastern part of the empire.
In a brilliant campaign led by old Field Marshal Parabellum the Muscovites were defeated in a series of battles.

JGOHqel.jpg

FoI2lZB.jpg

Muscovy was forced to release Perm and return the last of the territories Novgorod could claim as theirs.

On the march home word spread that the Lithuanians and Polish were comitting genocide towards the ruthenian minority.
This could not stand!
War was declared and in alot of sieges and some major battles

WITvwmx.jpg

the enemy was defeated.
Forcing several provinces with large ruthenian population under the protection of Ukraine.

During the war the Prussian Emperor was killed in battle.
The confusion of the battlefield commanders were great and several officers swear that they saw enemys long dead rise up behind the the Royal guard and attacking once again, resulting in the royal guard beeing encircled and slaughtered to the last man.

With the heir only 8 years old and words of the Bavarian ruler once again moving on Switzerland panic reached the Prussian royal court resulting in the worst bickering and folish nobles to establish themselves in the regency council.
Unable to come to the aid of Switzerland and Milan the Prussian diplomats could only watch in terror.

1582 King Heinrich rose to the Prussian throne.
The bavarians did not stand idle, after gobbling up a few more princes of the empire they simply declared war on the new Emperor. Austria.
As a trusting servant of the empire Prussia refused to stand by and watch yet another aggressive expansion at the cost of the empire.
The war was joined and after focusing on wiping out smaller siege armies in austria itself, word reached the armies that the Bavarians had entered Prussian soil.

The armied forced their march back home and engaged the Bavarians most likely caught off guard, a glorious victory was won at the battle of Bohemia.
A smaller Spanish army was totally wiped out at the battle of Mecklemburg.
And before the northern prussian army reached Finland to help against the swedish invasion, Bavaria gave up their greedy ambitions for this war and signed a white peace with the emperor.

The french king was either insane or ill or maybe bewitched.
After starting a war against the minor Duchy of Guyenne the french armies were forbidden to move and engage the enemy, after several years of inactivity and not a single battled the Duke of Guyenne produced a documented saying the French king admitted himself defeated and ceded the province of Toulouse.

Slow progress in the west

In the year of out lord 1565, the Hanseatic foreign politics were crystal clear to the Statthalter and the council. To increase the trade influx to northern Europe the League needed ports and colonies in the west to support the merchant fleets. It came to the councils attention that the English had started sending colonists westwards to escape the trade embargo enforced by the Hanseatic fleet in Europe. When the English then attacked the free cities of Wales the Hansa acted. The English army was driven out of Wales and crushed outside the gates of London by General Adler and his mercenary army. The Portuguese fleet was sunk as they came to aid the English but they had sent an expeditionary force through France that fell into the free lowlands and pillaged and burned. General Adler had to dispatch some of his troops back to Germany but the war in England was already won and peace could be settled once the Portuguese had been sent fleeing. Several more cities were freed to join the Walesian republic and the Hanseatic border in the north was moved further south as well. The most important part of the peace deal however was the acquisition of the English colony Yucatan which now allowed the Hansa to start colonizing in the north west.

Merchants were dispatched to forward the trade back to Lübeck but somehow the reach of the ships were not enough to reach the wealthiest trade centers in the west where Tuscany and Spain had claimed land long before it was known to others. The council unanimously voted for further colonization in the west despite of this setback however and the Hanseatic fleet is still uncontested on the seas.

In Europe some small city states in Germany joined the League before the eyes of the council turned north once again to the weakened alliance between Denmark and Norway. The claims on Jutland were enforced and soon all Danish lands were under Hanseatic control. The Norwegians fought harder and sent guerrilla armies through the mountains into Sweden that harassed the besieging League troops. The might of the free cities was too overwhelming in the end though and peace could be settled. The council was so impressed by the Norwegian defensive that they offered them the chance to join the League by vote. The Norwegian king was forced to accept this offer by his advisers but he stalled the election for at least ten years so that the people of Norway might know how it is beneath Hanseatic rule, thinking that the people surely would rebel during this time. The council accepted his terms knowing full well that when the taste of freedom has been felt no sane man will vote to reinstate dictatorship.

When there was peace in the north the attention of the League was turned west once again. Unfortunately war broke out between France and Austria and the armies had to be sent south to the lowlands, before they had fully recuperated, to protect against Austrian aggressions. The war was a success although the French king settled the peace only for his own gains, ignoring the Statthalters demand that Austria release its occupied lands from Munster.

Colonization progressed well but when the Statthalters attention once again turned to Europe it was discovered that Prussia had vassalised and was on there way to annex Denmark, in clear violation with the deal struck between the two neighboring countries nearly a century ago. It is with saddened and worried feelings the Council now are forced too add a threat from the east to those already present as it seems the Prussian expansion will not only go eastwards.

After the conquest of Assam, Shan and Arakan, the people of Ayutthaya needed some time to calm down, so Dave had plenty of time to focus on the colonization project and and to ponder where to expand next. While he was reviewing the latest colonial additions to the empire a messenger from Vijayanagar arrived with the message that their king had finally agreed to the trade of some of Ayutthayas provinces in Africa for the Vijayanagarian provinces on Java. The actual exchange of the provinces toke a while since neither party wanted excessive overextension, but Dave was immensely pleased that it was finally decided. A short while after the exchange was decided upon Dave died of old age, which left the throne to his brother - lets call him Ed.

Since Dave hade lived such a long life, Ed was old already when he ascended the throne and so felt a bit stressed to accomplish something noteworthy before he died. Both Dai Viet and Brunei joined the empire as full full members soon after his inaugeration, but this was projects started by Dave and Ed was not entirely satisfied with this... Some members of the court had voiced their concern that the loss of provinces in Africa would lead to detoriation of Ayutthayas influence and connections to the west, and so he decided to compensate for the lost provinces with new ones. This time through war instead of colonization though! As soon as the ships had unloaded the armies in the remaining african colonies Ed declared war on the African state of Kilwa. The Kilwans put up a brave fight, but their inferior military technology made them a mere nuiscance to the ayutthayan armies and a few years later a few provinces joined the Ayutthayan empire. Soon after the African endeavour Ed died peacefully and left the empire in the hands of a regency council for a few years before his son - lets call him Fred - could take the throne.

Fred was something of a religious fanatic and wanted to convert everyone to buddhism and gave the scholars of Ayutthaya the task of educating a new and better generation of missionaries. Meanwhile, he himself started a succession of crusades against the smaller neighbours of Ayutthaya, and managed to convert Champa, get Majapahit to release Bali and annexed the stubborn hindus of Makassar. Somewhere along the way, Ayutthayas last vassal form before the westernisation, Pegu, also got peacefully annexed. Ayutthayays neighbours to the northeast, Zhou, had made the poor decision to leave buddhism behind and embrace Confucianism instead, but the court advised Fred that it was to big of a country to forcibly convert, so the cunning Fred instead funded the buddhistic rebels in the countryside which managed to convert almost all of the Zhou provinces, which are now ripe for the taking. The court of Ayutthaya however, frowned upon Freds religious zeal, and how long manages to keep his throne is a question for the future.

Kapitel 5:

Slow reforms

Raja Sriranga I had just recently begun his rule, but young as he was he had great visions. He could see how the Empire, long a distinguished center of learning and knowledge, was starting to fall behind when it came to innovating and developing new technology, especially when one compared to the rumors coming form the lands in the west. So in 1565 he set himself a goal: to initiate a series of reforms, similar to those implemented by his neighbor Ayutthaya, to ensure that Vijayanagara would newer be seen as an underdeveloped second class nation.

The first steps were simple - all the lands of some minor neighbors must be quickly seized so that they, together with those currently not fully integrated into the Empir, could be prepared for the transition (a process already well on its way). The last remnants of Dehli were soon assimilated and diplomatic ties with Gujarat developed in order to bring about a peaceful vassalization. Some Indonesian provinces were exchanged with Ayutthaya for a foothold in southern Africa, a dear but necessary trade: the Empire would now border directly to Portugal. Many interesting and helpful things could certainly be learnt by careful study of this advanced and powerful nation from "Europe".

The different branches of government were readied for the changes to come, a tedious process which meant a prolonged period of little action. The only visible progress was that the first Golkonda, long time ally and trusted union partner, and then Malwa, forcefully vassalized, were both incorporated into the Epmire. When the time came that the officials in the last and most important province, Great Karoo next to Portugals lands in Africa, reported that they were only a few months from being ready the Raja was more than thankful. Then disaster struck: an uprising occurred in the very same province, the worst possible place!

Sriranga I swore to himself for missing the signs that rebellion was brewing (which could have easily been handled before it actually sprung forth) and scrambled the local regiments. The rebels were however strong enough to defeat them despite roughly equal numbers and managed to occupy the province just before reinforcements arrived. They were quickly squashed after that, but the damage they had done meant that the whole process of integrating Great Karoo had to start over. So much wasted time!

The only positive effect of the delay was that Gujarat was finally persuaded to become a vassal without military intervention. They had at first been positive to this suggestion but then changed their minds as relations improved and they, ironically, felt secure thanks to the friendship of mighty Vijayanagara. The Raya reminded them of their insignificance by breaking the alliance - as soon as they had overcome their initial dismay they were allowed to sign a new one and then gratefully vassalized.

The nation and especially its leader was now more than ready and the reforms were initiated as soon as it was possible. The people reacted quite adversely to the sudden changes (as predicted) but the many years of preparations meant that everything is going smoothly. Rumor has it that the Raya is even thinking of engaging in a somewhat more challenging war in order to occupy himself - a luxury he has long been denied. Baluchistan is, after all, sitting on a lot of provinces that rightfully belong to the Imperial Vassals...

Fred's religious fervor continued with a successful conversion war with Majapahit before the court had had enough. When the king next set his eyes on Zhou to the northeast, the court encouraged him to lead the armies himself. Since he was young and full of visions of glory Fred readily accepted, and during the campaign he died in a surprising ambush. The war however went smothly, despite a surprising korean occupation of Brunei, and Freds son - lets call him Gabe - started his reign by liberating several buddhist provinces from Zhou.

Since Gabe was only 15 when his father died he tried to follow his advisors council as much as possible and when they suggested that Ayutthaya would profit from peaceful establishment of a few more protectorates he went to work immidiately. The small eastern neighbour Champa immidiatly accepted the proposal of becoming a protectorate, but both Majapahit and Kilwa - with wich Ayutthayay had a tad more violent history - were more reluctant to join the glorius Empire. As the impatient boy he was, Gabe declared war against Kilwa in a fit of rage over his spoiled plans. However, Kilwa had joined Zhous coalition against Ayutthaya, so Zhou was once again involved in the war, and in the last minute, Kilwa entered an alliance with the Ottomans, which suddenly became war leader. The alliance must have been somewhat of a dissapointment to Kilwa, as neither the Ottomans or their allied in turn, the Timurids, could get any troops to the fighting, and so the whole of Kilwa was soons occupied. Since the Ottomans had suffered no losses though, no negotiating skill in th world would make them give in to the demand of kilwa as an Ayutthayan protectorate. In the end, the sad outcome of the war was the annulment of Kilwas alliance and the liberation of another of Zhous buddhist provinces.

Dissapointed as he was, Gabe had learnt a lesson from the Kilwan war, and carefully examined the political ramifications before declaring war on Majapahit one last time to make them a new protectorate. The war was short, and as a bythought, he also annexed the small new nation of Bali. After this he turned his attention to colonization. The ayutthayan explorers had returned with word of new continents far to the east, and the presence of european colonies seemed to prove that the absurd european idea, that the world was round, was actually true. Gabe's young mind was not so disturbed by this, but the court was in turmoil and thought that the europeans must somehow have smuggled colonists past the Ayutthayan empire. However, they soon agreed with Gabe in that they needed to establish their own colony in this new land, and after some deliberation chose a small province at the coast of a part called California. What economical and political advantages might be found in the new world is now an exciting tale of the near future!

War in Europe

For the Hanseatic League troubling time lay ahead, Prussia was expanding into Hanseatic trade zones and it was only a matter of time until they would threaten the free cities of Germany within Hanseatic protection. They had gone back on previous deals but as their military was far superior than anything the League could muster, diplomats were sent out to the other neighboring kingdoms to seek protection in numbers. Many rulers agreed that if Prussia could not be held back all would be lost in the not so far away future. The army was called home from the colonies but due to English aggression it had to land in the English Isles to protect the free cities of Wales from the tyrant. The war was quickly won by the free legions and the army could return to Scotland to resupply and reinforce. It was agreed that an attack on Prussia, before they could grow further in strength, was necessary and a military coalition was formed. The council agreed that Denmark needed to be freed from Prussian control and joined the coalition before the attack began in 1597. England joined the war on the Prussian side breaking the truce with the League thinking the Hanseatic troops had left for Germany, but as they were still stationed in Scotland the English were quickly beaten and forced out of the war, loosing some minor lands in the process. The Prussian army proved as formidable as the rumors had said and battle after battle was lost in northern Bavaria. The heaviest burden of the war fell to Bavaria and Venice to hold off the Prussians in Germany while Hanseatic troops invaded Prussian-occupied Denmark and Finland and the armies of Milan fought of the French who had betrayed both Bavaria and the Hansa and joined on the side of Prussia. Something they would later regret. When Sweden attacked the Norwegians under Hanseatic protection the League had to divert most of its forces to fight the Swedes which unfortunately gave the Finish time to recuperate. The fighting went badly and Norway and the few free Swedish cities were lost, the beaten and exhausted army retreating to the safety of the Danish Islands were the navy could defend the strait. An offensive was planned by the coalition and the army in Denmark was heavily reinforced with Scottish and Irish mercenaries before they returned south to aid in the offensive on Berlin. One coalition army went inland and started to siege Berlin while the Prussian armies had marched south and a second one camped nearby to reinforce should the Prussians attack in force. For many months the armies maneuvered for advantage but when none was gained and the siege of Berlin was almost done the Prussians attacked the two armies simultaneously to hold off reinforcements. Although the coalition had the power of numbers the Prussian discipline prevailed at the battle of Berlin and the coalition was forced to retreat. The victorious Prussian army in the capital could then reinforce their brethren with the result that the offensive had to be abandoned for the time being.
The Hanseatic army returned to Denmark to rest and resupply but word came that the Swedish army was en route around the Baltic to assault Lübeck itself. This opportunity could not be wasted and the armies were shipped off to free Norway and start an offensive on Sweden itself. The Swedish army turned back when they got word of the Hanseatic invasion and returned home, but due to poor leadership they could be trapped on Åland by the ever vigilant Hanseatic navy and now it is but a matter of time before Sweden can be forced to settle for peace. The war with Prussia still rages and has done so for 18 years and the question is how long it will have to last for Denmark to be released.

Brandenburg/Prussia AAR 6 - Hurt pride strikes back
The year of our lord 1594

The Bavarian King had in previous wars showed his determination and contempt for the european rulers that interfered with his annexation of the Swiss.
After the war when he was forced to release Switzerland as an independant nation he plotted for revenge.
First out was Venice whom he invaded shortly after the truce and forced them to hand over several coffins of ducats.
Next in line was Milan, who was forced to humilitate himself and give up most of his treasury.
After that Switzerland was forcefully annexed it left only one nation who had not been reprimanded, namely Prussia.

After a diplomatic dispute between the Hanseatic league and Prussia regarding the Prussian decision to protect what was left of the danish heartland from the capitalistic league who had a somewhat different view of the meaning of "Free".

The hanseatic league could not stand up to Prussia on it self and the Danes could finally exhale in relief.

It was however to be a short respite. The capitalistic Hanseatic league and the vengeful Bavaria plotted together and somehow managed to involve Venice and Milan even though Bavaria recently had invaded their lands.

They formed a coalition and in 1597 Bavaria as the leader of the Coalition declared war on Prussia.

A Lifetime Of War

Two ways to view the world so similar at times
Two ways to rule the world to justify their crimes
By kings and queens young men are sent to die in war
Their propaganda speaks those words been heard before

Two ways to view the world brought Europe down in flames
Two ways to rule

Has man gone insane?
A few will remain
Who'll find a way
To live one more day
Through decades of war.
It spreads like disease,
There's no sign of peace.
Religion and creed
Cause millions to bleed.
Two decades of war.

From dawn to dawn they're fighting,
Die where they stand
The fog of war lies thick
When armies scorch the land.
When all of Europe's burning
What can be done?
They've been to war two decades,
One more to come?

Feeling insecure, Diego? Or a little "Avis"?

As the century was nearing its end the reforms initiated to bring the Vijayanagara Empire up to the technological level of the western nations were progressing well. Some minor rebellions and general mumbling among the nobility/army command /admiralty occurred from time to but were easily dealt with, thanks to the large amount of preparations on the part of the Raja, and not allowed to interfere with progress. Things were going so well that he even had the opportunity to start a minor war against Baluchistan, an nice little exercise for the army that in the end returned some provinces to their rightful owner, the Imperial Vassal Gujarat.

When the process completed in the second year of the new century Sriranga I was free to redirect the nations resources to actual improvements and to once again direct part of his attention outside the borders. The second Crusade against Baluchistan immediately followed, but the great leader fell in one of the first battles and was succeeded by Sadashiva I. Already well into his fifth decade the new Raja was no less experienced and this war was as easily won as the last, with the rest of the territories belonging to Gujarat returned with some extra spoils of war on the side.

[WIP]

Then, out of nowhere, war was declared upon the Empire by Portugal, a western nation mostly known by their colonies in Africa and a great inspiration for the recent reforms. The Portuguese king Diego I de Avis apparently felt that he needed to assert his superiority!? This conflict against a much more technologically advanced enemy will surely be a test of the Empires determination and spirit...

Kapitel 6:

An so it were, that ANNO 1594 Milan was trapped an squeezed in one corner of Europe. Above all it was the great BBB that strained the mental health of the benevolent King Per. Every once in a while the BBB decides that now is the time to fuck up Milan for fun and games. Not only that but the horrendous actions of his northern neighbour Bavaria knew no bounds. He felt squeezed from all sides. His southern ally Tuscany showed dwindling interest in helping out his once close brother in arms and Venice in the east seamed stressed on his own. But as agreement is made so it must be fulfilled and as King Per is the foremost believer in honor and truth the verbal agreement made with Bavaria must be honoured. As the envoy from Bavaria, by agreement, asked us to join the war against Prussia, we went...

Now as war has raged for decades, we have finally managed to fuck France up for a change, and we have no interest in ending the war to reverse the situation.

The Bavarian king fell unconscious, probably due to the fact that the BIG BOOK of War was dropped on his head some wonders was it really an accident?

Nonetheless the two trusted advisers dumb and dumber was now given the task of ruling Bavaria until such time as the king again woke up.
