Cornflakes: German Civil War EVERY TIME!

Am I the only one experiencing this? 3 attempts at playing, US, then SAF, then Japan, and each time Hitler is killed, Germany is plunged into civil war, and the Axis lose before 1940.

So far, CORNFLAKES is terrible. It's just killed the game for me. I know what happens everytime.

Played 3 times now, had Hitler killed once, no civil war even then (Adolph just was replaced by Himmler, non-Cornflakes event).
But I saw Soviet Union KGB revolt, followed by anti-Trotsky revolt. It was hillarious.

On streams I've seen the USSR have multiple civil wars, because apparently the focus tree gets reset after the civil war, which really hampers the USSR. Germany also seems to end up with ridiculous amounts of industry and can actually win two front wars against half the world. I haven't seen the AI oppose Hitler yet, but I did see Austria join the Pact of Rome with Hungary and Italy, and refuse Anschluss, which caused the Czechs to refuse Sudetenland (since Germany was still trying to conquer Austria) and trigger the crisis (not sure if that requires the UK to side with Czechoslovakia but I think it does, maybe tied to world tension?) which caused a Democratic revolution that joined the Allies.

And when I played as Germany and got the Kaiserin, Japan tried to go Communist but couldn't take Tokyo to finish the Civil War. I hadn't even realized Japan could go Communist.

from what i reember, non-historical AI choose civil war 10% of the time, so about 1/1000 players gets their first 3 ahistorical playthroughs with only civil wars.

I've seen weirder things in Asia, such as Chiang's China bullying Shanxi, and Shanxi joining the Greater Asian Co-Prosperity sphere, then Japan liberating all Chinese lands to Guangxi after taking the Chinese coasts, and then declaring war on Guangxi to take what they have liberated to Guangxi during the previous peace treaty.... I like how they added new features but it seems that very little testing war done on how the new changes interact with each other during gameplay.

I have seen Mao joining Japanese faction, then get dowed by Japan. They were kicked probably, i have no idea how all these happened. Especially considering this was a historical game.

FINALLY.

4th playthrough, went as Germany. Hitler was again assassinated, but no civil war. Absurdity.

Something interesting about the German Civil War touched off by the Sudetenland Crisis is that it breaks the German branch of the Chinese Foreign Investment tree if the Democrats win. Presumably this is because the opposite side of the civil war ends up with a created nation tag (in my case D02, Nationalist Spain was D01) instead of the GER tag. Meanwhile I can still take the Soviet path because the newly democratic Russian Federation still has the SOV tag. Also that Democratic Germany gets the generic focus tree, which is probably for the best as the regular tree would likely be a mess if it had to start over or tried to continue from where the Reich left off.

Italy: Don't ally with Germany, because I don't trust it. Germany goes to Civil War and is defeated by the Allies in 1939.
Soviet Union: Germany rolls through everyone with no civil war. Soviet Union has TWO before 1939.

This game is killing me.

If non-historical a.i. then your point is moot.

Enabling Historical Focus does not guarentee 100% you will get a historical game, if you read the tooltip it says "Tends to follow historical path". Hearts of Iron IV is a sandbox game.

I felt non-historical was obvious. Still not moot though. We go non-historical for a more random game. The same outcome every time is not random, there's some seriously skewed algorithms at play.

I had 2 German a.i. games and in neither the civil war happened.
Just saying that your sample size is so small that it doesn't support your conclusion at all.
