So I have an Ironman game going as Poland, and ended up in a very good position to go for the "No more partitions" achievement, as both myself and Germany went monarchist so I could ally them while remaining independent, and the USSR got bogged down in its civil war until the early '40s because they were unable to take the Crimean Peninsula from the opposition. (I actually had to intervene and help them win so that I could invade them without it being a civil war.)
After a short and extremely one sided war, I puppeted the Soviets, but didn't get the achievement. Checking the requirements, I apparently did not hold all of my core states. After checking what I thought was everywhere and thinking of edge cases that could be invalidating it (Danzig bugs, 'hidden' cores from focuses/formables, etc.) I finally noticed that at some point I got Bucovina as a core state.
While I am immensely relieved that I don't have to do another Poland run for the achievement, I have absolutely no idea how I gained that core. It's not in any of mine or Romania's focuses, and I did core all Czechoslovakian states since I did the Hapsburg route, but AFAIK Czechoslovakia has no way to core Bucovina either.
So does anyone have any clue as to how that could have happened?
(Also, it would be nice to have a UI tool to see/highlight our cores/claims so we don't have to click through states.)
