Installation alternative

I think you really should reconsider an alternative path if you can't get the moddir to work. I have been working alot on this myself for MDS and I know there are other ways to solve it. I have made a tool I call preinstallation as it makes a twinfolder like this:
<installationpath>\Hearts of Iron 2
<installationpath>\YourMod
The preinstall tool comes with an .ini file making it possible customize what files you (the mod team) like to copy from the original hoi2 vanilla installation. After the preinstallation is run you apply your mod and your files. I would be happy to share this tool and with you guys.
I know your mod do not change that many files of the game there for making this approach look a bit of an overkill. I am however convinced it's still a better alternative then overwriting files in the vanilla installation.

Release it even if the files will have to be copied one after another from regular .zip file.
Don't experiment with some installation programms.
Release it as soon as possible.
If there are people that want to wait for super-duper instaling programm, let them wait.
But give the CORE2 to others as soon as possible.

The installer is not the problem - there are a few CTDs left, as MDow said, that need to be resolved. We have had installer problems, but those problems aren't responsible for us not releasing - the in-game CTDs (and other problems) are.
So chill and rest assured that we will release as soon as we think it won't be a waste of bandwidth to download.

We are still debugging the mod to get something that won't crash the first time that you try and run it. I could release it to you now, but that wouldn't be fair to you.
