CORE2 Update (16 Nov)

well CORE will not be done with the first release. It will have techs, some event(new and modified vanilla event chains), first part of the mobilisation mod, and probably a couple of other things im forgetting.

It is not sure that the first version will hold any ai's at all, so dont complain about it yet

it will most likely continue to evolve over the next couple of years as it did with the first CORE. it will be modified to match any official enhancement version and once DOOMDAYS expansion is out we will decide on how we will continue from there.

Hurry up CORE team! I beg you don't make us wait until the next remembrance day! I am suprised how quick you got this done though. It took paradox about a year just to release a V1.3 (which should be 2.0 considering it has huige amunt of fixes) while you do up a WHOLE MOD in no time! Now, as they say on this advert...

I'm an old CORE fan and I can't wait to try it on HOI2. I've been very impressed by the 1.3a release of vanilla so I'm eagerly awaiting the CORE release.

Well, in all fairness it won't be "done" when we release. It'll be an early version that will (hopefully) be stable and playable. "Done" I don't think it'll ever be. Especially since Doomsday will screw things up for us when it arrives. Damn that expansion!

The installation will be through a standard windows installer that will put the files in the default Hearts of Iron 2 folder. Should be fairly mistake proof unless you changed the install path for your HoI2 install. MDow

Of course i changed the path for my HoI2 install.

problem

Thats a problem for me since my harddrive is F: - I CANT install to the default location unless i want to reload my PC - and i gotta tell you with 100gigs in use on the harddrive right now, it would not be worth it. (not for 1 game)

So, you can install that game at somebodys computer and then just copy it at yours. I think that game is worth this operation.

It doesn't mean that you can't install using the standard installer, assuming that it's the same as is usually used for these things - just that you have to pay attention and not simply use the default path.

Thanks - you have a great idea there. I work in the IS industry so all I have to do is use a work PC with a basic install/and patches and just USB key (1GB) the modified files home. And then just continue prepping the PC (reghost it) with our standard image. Must have not been thinking ! Doh.
Ahhh light at end of tunnel.... Now WHERE WAS THAT DOWNLOAD..... (still not out yet ?) [is it 2006 yet ?]

We had a problem with the installer that it installed certain files to the default HoI2 directory, but others to the path specified. It has been solved now, though, so you all need not worry.
