Notes on Open Beta2

Several of the problems reported for Beta1 have been (hopefully) solved.

Spanish Civil War CTDs should be gone.

The main problem is Germany getting stuck in Belgium. Please report on your different playing experiences here.

Nice, but sadly I will not be able to play before Sunday.
Is there some kind of changelog? It would make testing the fixed problems easier. Also are there other issues besides the Germany<->Belgium problem that need special attention.
 
I will do what I can but I am just in the process of switching computers, so my possibilities are somewhat limited.

But the complete changelog should be part of the download ....

Hrm, I seem to be having a problem with the travel pack. Installing it doesn't change any of the province graphics.

On another note, the color graphic pack only changes a few ministers and tech teams. I didn't know if this was due to it being an older pack, or another failure installing on my part. Appreciation in advance for any help.
 
Oops... The imagery is installed in the mod-CORE2\gfx\interface\models directory, not the mod-CORE2\gfx\interface directory. Either cut/paste them in the right directory, or re-download the travel guide if you please (as it's fixed as of now). Sorry about that! :eek:o

As to the color graphic pack: what country are you playing?

thanks for the new update!

a few observations from my USA game:
SCW stalemates, no movement from 37 to 39, despite a clear advantage for nat spain.
JAP managed to grab a big chunk of the chinese coast with two landings but doesn't have enough divisions to expand let alone defeat nat china. (which is probably historical)

I got an event giving me a blueprint for econ. recovery 1936 after I researched it.

On the graphic pack: I had loaded up as the UK. Overall, most of the tech teams were color with only one or two ministers. I checked a few other countries in the diplomacy menu such as Germany and they did not have any in color.

Did you install GIP, as well as the CORE in color graphics pack? It's meant to complement GIP rather than replace it...
 
Oh, I see. That I did not. Will do that right away, thanks again! That's what I get for not playing CORE since HoI1; I've been missing out on all the features...

On that note; is there a newer version GIP around somewhere? I still have the good ol' GIP for DD 0.6 package and it still works, but I was wondering if anything newer has come out. I tried to search the forums for it but I failed...

Yes, this will happen. It's more of a "failsafe" way to help the AI along than necessarily something a player will benefit from. Nothing to worry about, certainly.
