Anyway. Problem remains. Why is it always so easy (and sometimes boring in my opinion) to play with Germany??? I think it should have more econolic problems. Also a better AI for UK and URSS capable of big amphibious operation wouldn't be bad at all.
I hope that the future versions of Core will tackle the problem but as fa as I understood core 0.3 will not deal with it...
I am by no means a developer, but right now we (the betas) are play testing different things. It is exceptionally difficult to make a USSR that is similar to real life. There is a fine line between Europe being Grey in 1943 and Europe being Red in 1943.
One thing I really like, playing as USSR, is the gearing up for war event effects a lot more than GDE.

Definately not today or tomorrow. More realisticly the end of either the coming weekend or the week after that. It will all depend on the progress and the go/no-go decision from the Betas though, so no guarantees! But we're winding up things developmentwise, and it won't be too long now.

I have waited for 0.3 to be Germany again. Maybe not so odd, but it is kind of suitable for a wargame as HoI. To make a twist I was thinking of simulating the removal of Hitler in the thirties and a naval oriented restoration of Germany, paternal autocrat. Perhaps ally Austria, kind of back down on the Sudeten crisis and if Poland or War fires I will back down. I gonna get high belligerence some way to simulate the open neglecting of the Washington trieties. And then wait to see. We’ll se how the event engine will react on that. Or I keep Hitler and just go all out navy.
Book: Have a nice five book series on the German uboot war by Clay Blair and also read a couple of shorter ones on various aspects as the French campaigne, etc. The Wiki gave me enough for my imagination on the Z-plan – we’ll se how far I can get there.
What will be your first with 0.3?
This is my second list:
France – deliberately lose the battle of France, refuse Vichy and fight back.
Finland – they will always be my heroes of history for their accomplishment during the winter war.
Sweden – what if we took a stand and had joined the allies early on?? Maybe a naval build up.
Sweden – what if the Finns and the Swedes had pushed through and made a defence pact?
Romania – long time, no see. Like that little countries potential, but haven’t tried it in core for a while.

The Release Candidate has been released (technically version number 0.3.0.12). Hopefully I'll get the manual posted before the end of the weekend. Need to look over a couple of more things (though it'll still be a draft).Clamence said:
