Cordel Plains

Hi, I am new to this forum, like really really new. But seeing all the other fans and play out there posting their cities in this forum, I'm like I should do that too you know. So, I got myself an account and wanted to share my experience and city building journeys with all of you here, starting from this current play. But one thing to keep in mind is that while I've been playing C:SL for about 2 years (I think) I'm still not much of a good city builder and my cities areare exactly the prettiest, but I'm here to learn, and share so without further ado, I introduce you to Cordeltown (Cordel Plains).

P/s: I'm already in the game for quite some time so I didn't take the beginnings pic and I'm just gonna skip that. IT'S ALL AN AFTERTHOUGHT HAHAHA!!!!!!......

also my computer (a laptop that's probably more than 5 years old) isn;t the best and the most powerful thing ever to run a game like this so please bear with my really, really, low res and ugly pictures since the graphics settings isn't that great LOL.

In the area where the seven rivers meet and diverge, a small settlement that will be known as Cordeltown was founded in the region that will be later known as Cordel Plains..........

Intrigued by the beauty of the region, more people started to moving in as Cordeltown continues to develop from a virgin piece of land into a bustling little township. Soon, this little town would experience a population boom. Cordeltown underwent tremendous growth and it was further expanded into different districts and areas, each with their own functionality and special charm. Shops were built, different residential areas and suburbs follow suite. The potential of the town to become something special is... exponential......

So the town of Cordeltown was divided into different sections, districts and neighbourhoods. The first to be built was the neighbourhood of Cordeltown Phase 1 as well as the commericial zone, Cordeltown Business Park. A primary and secondary school was built for the residents of the Phase 1 neighbourhood.

Not long after the founding of the residential area and nearby shops, the town planner realised that it is time for them to plan out an industrial zone to support the town with the supplies and materials they needed, as well as jobs for those who just moved in to the little hamlet. As a result, Cordeltown Industrial Park was developed and factories started to move in, accompanied by fleets of trucks and lorries and vans that would soon cripple the town's traffic......



The troubles that the citizens later face is that somehow the need to have a degree for job application and the nearest higher education instituition is like, non-existent...... To accomodate the commercial zones needs, I decided to build a university for the townsfolk to further their studies.

Outside connections and the mobility of the citizens are also something that I cared about since not everyone have cars and the city could also use some income. Meanwhile, across the suburb's connecting 4-lane road, the second residential divison, Cordeltown Phase 2 was bring developed and people soon swarmed into the area. Phase 2 was located by the waterfront so it's natural the prices of houses there are more pricier. Nevertheless, the properties was selling like hot cakes!



As days passed by, the booming town is looking into the possibility of public transportation. With the approval and the allocation of funds by the provincial government, a train line was built to serve the region. Stations were placed in the industrial park, the main residential neighbourhood and a future residential development project across the bay to get people movin'. A bus station was also built at the empty spaces that would soon become something else outside of the commercial district. A taxi company was also founded for those who are willing to pay a higher price for speedier transport.

Hi guys! As a newbie not only in posting forums, writing city journals and building realistic cities as well, I would really really appreciate it if you could leave a comment and tell me what do you think about my city. I could really need some opinions and suggestions to improve my city and make it generally better in the future. On the other hand, I must apologise for not uploading crystal clear pictures since my laptop is not a powerful one and I am planning to buy a new one soon, along with my relatively awful grammar hahaha lol.
