That's because Paradox stole the grave accent from it; it should have actually been Liège.Well, this vassal's name is confusing...

False. Check text of 3rd May Constitution or Lublin union. It wasn't called Poland-Lithuania, but it wasn't called Commonwealth of Both Nations.It was never called (even in semi-official instances) Poland-Lithuania. Such thing in EU1 was very annoying.
It was the Commonwealth of Both Nations, but certainly not "Poland-Lithuania".
I only said it was never called Poland-Lithuania, NOT that it was always called ROP (CBN?).False. Check text of 3rd May Constitution or Lublin union. It wasn't called Poland-Lithuania, but it wasn't called Commonwealth of Both Nations.
It's a name of a country (apart from being the name of province), so it changes nothing. They are annoying vassal due to their name.Liege changes name to Luttich if you conquer it as the Dutch, guess it's the German name for it, because every dutch person calls it Luik...
Nah, we definitely need Rastafarian in the Nation designer. Also, we need an achievement or a mission for the Caribbean nation similar to the "recover our cultural heritage" mission that Japan gets (btw, kudos to the devs. Had to chuckleAlso, why wasn't Manga named yet? ).
Achievement: The five-leaved Herb
"Own Jamaica, Ganja, Amsterdam, Moron and the Highlands as Ethiopia".
>The highlands
I'm, quite literally, rolling on the floor laughing.
Doesn't sound English.Anyway, what do you think about changing following country names?
Aq Qoyunlu -> Ak Koyunlu
Golden Horde -> Altin Urda
Hejaz -> al-Higaz
The Knights -> Order of Saint John
Mamluks -> Al-Mamalik
Funj -> Sennar
Oudh -> Awadh
Qara Qouyunlu -> Kara Koyunlu
Ragusa -> Dubrovnik
Timurids -> Timurid Empire
Ottomans -> Ottoman Empire
Tuscany -> Florence
UPCA -> Guatemala (hey, Haiti applies to all Caribbeans in vanilla game!)
USA -> United States
?
Doesn't sound English.
Doesn't sound English.
Ak Koyunlu and Kara Koyunlu are Turkish version of Persian Aq Qoyunlu/Kara Koyunlu so I have no idea what do you mean by 'doesn't sound English'.
No. It sounds better but would make no sense if a government change were to take place.
Same as above.
Yes.
Rzeczpospolita would be hard for not Poles too, wouldn't it?
That just means "republic", doesn't it?
I still read that as "vagina guard." I know it's wrong but I can't be expected to figure out how to pronounce that mess of letters.Names I like for various reasons:
I really like Vijayanagar![]()
Actually You can be expected to do so. I mean... these are all either english names (Spain, not Espana etc) either english transcription (for non-latin alphabet, so Vijayanagar, Majapahit etc).I still read that as "vagina guard." Names I like for various reasons:
I really like Vijayanagar
Khorasan
Bundelkhand
Mysore
Malabar
Jaisalmer
Kong
Chachapoya (both pronounciation and meaning)
Lanfang
Ramazan
Transylvania
Gondwana
Wanka (bad humor I know but...)
Wrong game but I like the duchy of Dandakaranya in CK2 too.
Province names:
Middag (at least for those of us who speak Swedish).
Haha (no comment needed I think)
Pamir (I just like this name).
But that doesn't funny.Actually You can be expected to do so. I mean... these are all either english names (Spain, not Espana etc) either english transcription (for non-latin alphabet, so Vijayanagar, Majapahit etc).
So You read it like any other english word. If You have problems, well, do it like in the elementary school: divide it into syllables.
Vi ja ya na gar
Vija yana gar
Vijayanagar
It's easy. Same for any other name in this game (I think that some european nations, especially in HRE have their native names, but they are usually easy to pronounce).

All of those central indian states with names like Mewar, Malwa and Marwar... they sound too similar.
