The Grasshopper looks so sexy.

Try turning PPC heat down to 30, where it ought to have been to begin with. You can run dual PPC + max JJs comfortably.
Aye, whoever is responsible for the weapon balance, really hates big energy weapons like the Large Lasers and Peeps.
Hell, even with TT heat stats, they'd probably wouldn't be as good due to their range being gimped by the small visual range.

In the Light category: Locust, though without an XL engine, FF, and ES, there's not much you can do about it being a deathtrap with pop guns. Mediums: Griffin is probably my favorite looking. Heavy: A bit of a tossup between the Catapult and Thunderbolt. Assault: Atlas or King Crab, I can't decide. The Atlas will always hold a special place for me from my TT days, though.

Catapult with his LRM ears and Atlas are the best. I recall fondly seeing them both for the first time. They wreck things xD.

Not here but lovely...Uziel!

The Jenner looks lovely as ever.

I'll keep it in the bay even if it gets outclassed later.

The Atlas is the most improved I've seen in this game compared to both ye olde Mechwarrior games as well as MWO. The real reason? Unlike all the first person games that didn't have melee, this game has something that looks less like a walking plank and more like a functional rock'em sock'em robot. Actually having shoulder joints, elbows, etc matters on mechs that are intended to look humanoid.

Haven't seen many of them, but I think the Cataphract looks awesome.. I've perhaps seen 2 of them. Seems to be quite rare.. At least compared to the endless hordes of Quickdraw mechs..

Amusing, I've seen 2 quickdraws (and salvaged 1) and have sold 3 or 4 CTFs and own two.

It is another of the excellent remodels.

Grasshopper too, I love the long legs.

Obviously the Catapult. And of course I mean the C1, not the abomination that is the K2.

I like almost every mech, but I'd say my humanoid favorites are Centurion and Atlas and chicken walker favorites are Marauder and King Crab.

While I don't use them anymore, I like the classic look of the Jenner and Locust mechs. They look like they could be real someday if walking tanks weren't a bad idea outside of fiction.
I think small walking tanks could be decent in an infantry support role some time in the future. But they'd have to be really small.

...man everyone talking about the Awesome has me conjuring a pretty distinct memory of a piece of art wherein an Awesome is either sprinting and leaping over an obstacle or, as my brain prefers to remember it, jump-kicking some smaller mech in the face. Wish I could remember where I saw it. Probably the Battletech CCG.

Hey now, the K2 has been a workhorse for me. I use a PPC + Ac/5 loadout though.
I find it sad that the best loadout for the K2 involves removing one or more PPCs and that the best use for the Awsome is to park it looking mean in your hanger.

An Awesome w/ 2 PPC + 5 ML works pretty darn well. You can snipe at long range with 2 PPC and up close use 1 PPC + 5 ML. Overall though I prefer the missile variant of the Awesome. It is annoying how hot the energy weapons are.
