Does anyone know how you get more convoys? I am playing with Prussia and decided to begin the game by fighting some colonial wars with some uncivilized countries. The first one was with Annan. I soundly defeated them and now control most of their former terrritory. But for some reason I am not reeping the benefits of their RGO's. Do I need convoys for those goods. Prussia does not have any to start the game. How do I get more?

Thanks for your help and all Hail the Triumvurite

Thanks, I sort of was hoping that was the reason. I have one being built now. I have always try to build them early in the game with every other country that I have played. But with this game with Prussia I wasn't planning on investing in the Navy. There is going to be a sea of prussian blue from Europe to Asia all the way down to Africa. Uh-oh O.E.

Not as in unit, but as in rescource, a la iron or steel or fruit.

Make sur eyou are stockpiling some clippers or steamers. You'll see how much you need via the state overview; top-left button in main overview.

They are used to transport goods from overseas colonies, more colonies need more transports, although I don't know if the amount is based on number of colonies, population, or goods produced.

You need convoys to transport goods to your industries. Otherwise, your overseas provinces can produce but you won't get their production.

I assume convoy need is calculated based on the amount of goods you need to transport. The reason I said that is because I noticed although my provinces may not go much, but by population increase and/or RR, my convoy need went up. It also makes sense.

Possible situation:

To get 100% transport you need 10 transports.

You have 5 clippers and 5 steamers and so you could add both to get 10. :)

Right, Rafiki. I understand. What I meant was that I was not going to build any clipper or steamer factories. The main reason for not constructing these factories was that I was not going to build any additional naval units hence no need for the factories. But, on second thought, that is a stupid reason because those factories would be good for my industry since they sell at a great price on the WM.

Yeah; if you have the opportunity, it never hurts, especially to have a steamer factory. And if you need some naval units down the road, it's good to have a domestic production of them.

If for example the convoy box says you dont have enough running-you have the ability to add more.

But do they come from your stockpile? (if you have any) or are they bought from WM?
