The converted game is basicly a save game for EUII and that should allow the EUII events to happen as they happen in original game.
It depends on whether the standard events are included via the #include command, else you can probably include them yourself. I am in school right now so I can't check whether the converter does do this or not, but if I notice it doesn't when I get home I could probably help you enable the events...
