I'm glad someone started this thread, because I have a separate issue and would appreciate any input.

I originally bought CKII for Gamersgate, and I have purchased every DLC through Gamersgate. Now I have a copy in Steam with no DLC except the converter.

1) Is there a way to get all of my DLC on the Steam version without purchasing all of them (probably over $50 worth at least) again? Or move the converter to my GG copy?
2) Is it possible to transfer saved games? I have a Norse Pagan Empire of Brittania I am itching to play as in EU4.

Thanks for any help.

I think i f***** up. I got CK2 and all of the Expansions on GG but bought Europa Universalis 4 on Steam. I suppose there is no way to convert my CK2-savegames now, right?

Since everyone was handed a copy of CK2 and the Converter on the same platform, you've got the ability to convert your savegames just fine. Only thing you'll miss out on is the special Aztec DLC America, which requires it to run alongside the Converter to change the conversion.

But if you're really desperate for a convert, you can just ask on the forum and have someone do it for you - It's just a savegame after all.

You should have bought EU IV on Gamersgate, I doubt you will get the DLC for free on Steam. However you could just buy the converter in your gamersgate CK2 as that is cheaper...

You don't transfer a save game per se, you create a mod where your savegame is the input. I converted my scandinavian empire and it worked great with only a minor issue, first all of my army was divided in two locations. One 1k in my capital, and one 90k one in another province. I would have prefered if the troops had been spread out where I had my armies.

Doesn't work for me. As soon as I load up the CK2 save in the free Steam version it automatically resigns the game as it lacks the same DLC as my normal version. The export button is there, but it doesn't do anything.

CK2 on Gamersgate and EUIV on Steam for me.

So what about the grey button issue? I've bought the converter—and?..
It does not show in the launcher and the „export“ button is not acitve in the game.

PS: One need to reload Steam to see it, as I've found out.
