Ok, you have the option to convert your king/ruler to a general. The navy get nothing. I think we should have the option to convert your ruler to an
admiral too!! If your ruler is a moron, he could do a great journey to Hawaii. :rofl:

It didn't happen in reality (Often at least) and it would be to exploitive as every Tom, Dick and Harry would use it to off a 3/3/3 king in the pacific ocean on a long long voyage going where every other bad king had gone before....:wacko:

And that is actually exactly the reason you cant. With some various other reasons such as a king never having actually been an active admiral.

Not so sure about that. Danish king Christian IV lost an eye in a naval battle, where he had no place to be, if he hadn't been commander in chief of the Danish fleet.

Kings did command naval battles (though not often). They didn't run naval campaigns like they did partake in land military campaigns though. If you think running a country from the field is hard imagine what it'd be like to run a country from a ship in the Caribbean, Indian ocean or even the Mediterranean (supposing you're a northern european power).
