Is it possible for the main character to change religion? Or the player kingdom? For example I play with DLC activated the pechenegs High chief would it be possible for him to change to catholicism or orthodoxy???

yes, if your liege is another Religion you can change to his religion with the Intrigue window
You can also have your heir educated by someone of another religion, so that you will convert once you die. Most of the time the child will switch to the tutor's education.
Just try not to become pagan, I usually get stomped instantly by Christian kingdoms.
