* Event for character looting a holding
* Norse religion

Options & effects:

Option A
"There are other treasures to loot"
(the situation has become too dangerous. You and your men abandon the loot)
> lose 5 gold (~simulates the loss of loot)
> lose 50 prestige
> lose 10 piety

Option B
"By the hammer of Thor, crush them!"
(you order your men to crush the resistance)
> lose 10 prestige
> gain 10 piety
> 10% chance of getting wounded

Option C (not available when Craven)
"Odinnnnnnnn !!!!"
(you personally lead the men in the charge crying out the name of Odin and wipe out the resistance!)
> you gain "Brave"
> you gain 50 prestige
> you gain 30 piety
> 20% chance of getting wounded
> 5% chance of getting maimed
> 1% chance of getting killed

(feel free to adjust the percentages and numbers - I just wrote them down without thinking it over too much.
in fact feel free to change anything :) - I just think to gain brave, tje situation must be dangerous, i.e. some chance of damage/kill)

Name: Abbasids and Zoroastrians - conversion/persecution event reflecting the Abbasid Caliphate's increasing intolerance of heretics and heathens in the Muslim world after the IXth century

Trigger: province of Zoroastrian faith under the rule of a Muslim polity (10% chance of firing)
exists Sunni Caliph

Event text: My lord, even though we have protected those fire-worshiping dhimmis, the Great Caliph [name of Caliph], may Allah be pleased with him, has declared a fatwa agains all heretics and unbelievers in our lands. We could "convince" them to embrace our faith and, thus, increase our standing with the Great Caliph, but we will lose an important source of income. Be also forewarned that many of them have succumbed to the heretical belief that the accursed Husayn was the son of Shahrbanu, a Persian princess, and they might fall into his error.

Option A: They must convert at all cost!
Piety + 50
30% gains trait zealous
tax income - 20%
relations with Sunni Caliph +40
Province converts to Sunni

-> 40% chance province converts to Shi'a (more Persians believe that Husayn, the Shi'a Imam, whose martyrdom is celebrated on the Day of Ashura, was the son of Caliph Ali from his marriage with Shahrbanu, a Persian Sassanid princess, and chose to embrace Shi'ism)
prestige - 50
relations with Sunni Caliph -40

Option B: we will protect the fire-worshipers in exchange for their coin
Gold + 50
Tax income + 20%
Piety - 50
relations with Caliph - 40
30% gains trait cynical
10% gains trait greedy

Trigger: Any pagan lands (narrative event starting rebellion) after ruler converts to christianity (or other "stable" religion). Pagan religion must be majority.

Event:
Title: Pagan Reaction!
Text: [pagan religion name] in your country grew restless since you decided to became one of ["normal" religion name]. They feel that new ways you introduced are highly offensive to their customs. It's not yet rebellion but theres seems no way to avoid it!

Choice A: Deus vult! [or another corresponding text for other religions)

Big revolt risk to all pagan provinces mentioned in event (Slavs and Romuva won't revolt together for example). All pagan characters despise ruler (-50 to relations). +50 to piety, +50 to prestige. Non- pagan characters get big + to relations.

Choice B (ruler can't be zealous): Screw ["normal" religion name] I'm [pagan religion]!

Ruler converts to mentioned religion, gets + to relations with pagan characters and malus with non-pagan. All "normal" religion provinces get big revolt risk. -50 to piety, -50 to prestige. Pagan religion gains religious authority, "normal" religion loses it.

Choice C (cynical ruler): I can be [pagan religion] I don't really care.

Ruler converts to mentioned religion, gets + to relations with pagan characters and malus with non-pagan (smaller than above). All "normal" religion provinces get big revolt risk (smaller than above). -100 to piety. Both pagan and "normal" religion lose small amount of religious authority. Ruler gets "the pragmatist" nickname.

Choice D (zealous ruler): In [Allahs, Gods, etc.] name! Those heathens shall pay with their blood!

+100 to piety, +100 to prestige. Big bonus to relations with non-pagans, huge malus to relations with all pagans (-200), every pagan province revolts- if there was "normal" religion ruler, he's overthrown. "Normal" religion gets + to religious authority, pagan religion loses it. Ruler gets "defender of faith" nickname.

Choice E (just+zealous ruler): They're Gods childrens as we are! They only wandered from path. Stop persecutions!

+50 to piety, +50 to prestige. 50% chance of getting "humble" trait. Small malus to relations with pagans, moderate to relations with zealous (but not just) non-pagan rulers. Small revolt risk to all pagan provinces. Ruler gets "the tolerant" nickname.

Choice F (cynical + just): Religion is only a tool to persecute people. It shall not stand! Persecutors shall be persecuted now!

[most inventive of my ideas ;)]

Every temple holding is converted to city (25%) or castle (75%). Every bishop is banished to papacy (or its counterpart). -200 to piety, +200 to prestige. +100 to relations with cynical characters, -200 to relations with zealous characters, -50 to all others characters. 50% chance for revolt in every holding formerly with temple (new revolt system allows non landed characters to lead these revolts. If they win, they become bishops and gain whole province). Every mentioned religion loses a bit authority. Ruler gets "the atheist" nickname.

And "bonus event". It probably doesn't have even small chance to make it, but it'd be amazing if it would ;):

Trigger: One of Popes vassals (no other character). Decision.

Event title: The very old gods. [narrative]

Description: Shrine of Jupiter is dimly illuminated with slowly burning candles. On the altar lies remnants of sacrificed lamb. You slowly rise from the floor, wiping sweaty forehead. Through the window you can see rising sun and quietly mutter prayer to Sol. From centuries your family has secretly worshiped Roman pantheon, fearing that pope will somehow get to know. But now you don't feel fear, you are strangely calm instead. You know what your purpose is now- no more secrets, no more fear. It's time for rightful rulers of Rome to regain their heritage. Luckily last years have been good for you. You've managed to convince [name of second Papal vassal] to become your friend... And your brother in faith. Your purpose is simple- take control of Eternal City, restore its former glory... And rebuild Roman Empire. You don't yet know how you are going to defeat impostor- Holy Roman Emperor, but you know that knowledge will come with time. Right now- its time to take Rome!

Decision: Roman eagle shall fly again!

Effects: Main character gets "Jupiters avatar" trait (+10 to all skills, immortality- can't be killed in battle, bonus to conversion, bonus in battles, can't get any bad trait), ambitious and diligent trait. Characters culture and religion changes to Roman. Ruler gets claim on Rome. Jupiter chosens holy order is formed. In holding new building is built "Legion barracks" +1000 to heavy infantry, +200 to light infantry, +300 to archers, +500 to light cavalry (after conquest of Rome it should be relocated there). Instantly war is declared upon pope.

Trigger:
Character adheres to the Tengri faith.
Character does not have the trait Cynical.
Character has the trait Pneumonic OR Has Consumption OR Has Measles OR Has Smallpox.
Character has an heir.

Event Text: "Your shamans have been consulting the spirits on how to cure you. The moment they suggest sacrificing your heir in return for restoring your health you begin to feel better and the shamans then inform you of what they suggested..."

Option A: "The demands of the spirits are clear! Bring us a poisoned drink!"
+20 piety
50% chance for the trait Pneumonic/Has Consumption/Has Measles/Has Smallpox to be removed
<heir> dies.

Option B: "No! I do not believe the shamans!"
-20 piety
30% chance to gain the trait cynical.

I got the inspiration from this:

According to The Secret History of the Mongols, Tolui sacrificed himself in order to cure Ögödei from a very severe illness during a campaign in China. The shamans had determined that the root of Ögödei's illness were China's spirits of earth and water, who were upset that their subjects had been driven away and their land devastated. Offering land, animals, and people had only led to an aggravation of Ögödei's illness, but when they offered to sacrifice a family member, Ögödei got better immediately. Tolui volunteered and died directly after consuming a cursed drink.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tolui#Death_and_legacy

According to some sources, Tolui sacrificed his own life, accepting a poisoned drink in shamanist ritual in order to save Ögedei who was suffering from illness

A: (Requires Wroth or Cruel) "You stupid cooks, make me this dish or I'll have your heads!"
10% chance they figure out the dish, giving the woman the "Happy Momma" temporary modifier +5 general opinion for the remainder of the pregnancy.

5% the mother dies! (Poison)
B: (Cannot be Greedy) Offer a bounty on the dish, and award a healthy sum to the cook who produces the dish.

Source from Wikipedia about Tengriism:
"The spirits can harm people or act as agents in transmitting a message or prophecy about the future. In the Secret History of the Mongols it is said the spirits of the land and water of Northern China were angry about the slaughter of the local population and harmed the Mongol Ogedei Khan with an illness that left him in bed unable to speak. In the Secret History, a spirit called Zaarin transmits a prophecy about the future rise of Genghis Khan."
