Event Name: The Big Blue Blob

Trigger: At war with France; After 1500; Western Tech Group

Event Text: A friar has come to your court to warn of a holy vision he has had over the last several nights. The Lord placed into his mind the image of a large and shapeless enemy with many tentacles strangling the life from every ruler of Europe! He thought he heard the Lord's voice, naming this blue monster "Blob." It's surely the avatar of Satan himself. When the friar has the vision again, what message about this unholy terror should he attempt to send the Lord on your behalf?

Option A: Kill the big blue Blob!
Create a general with 100 military tradition.

Option B: Mimic it's ways, attempting to rob it of its unholy "luck."
Gain 100 administration, diplomatic, and military monarch points

Option C: Ask the Lord's blessing to defeat it on our own.
Gain one year's gold and one year's manpower.

Create an event flag so The Big Blue Blob only triggers once.

This event is in memory of Louis William, Margrave of Baden, also known as the Shield of the Empire. It should fire more or less when Baden receives a relatively good ruler, such as Louis William (in game: 2-4-4).

33_rastatt_rsl_detail_portraet_ludwig_wilhelm_lmz327851.crop444x484.crop442x419_01.jpg

Trigger:
  • Baden has a ruler with at least 4 in military skill.
  • Baden is part of the HRE and at war with the Ottomans.
Event Text:
Shield of the Empire: Our ruler decides to actively participate in the Empire's defense against the Turks. We shall commit our forces to stop the Ottoman menace in the service of the Emperor.

Option A: Implement emergency measures for the reorganization of the armed forces.
(Lose 100 Military Power, 100 Administrative Power, 50 money) All Baden Armies gain +25% Discipline for the next 10 years

Option B: The Türkenlouis takes personal command of the army after carefully studying the enemy.
(Lose 200 Military Power) Turn Ruler* into General with improved stats. At least 4 pips in Fire, Shock, Maneuver, at least 1 in Siege

*I do not know if the engine allows to improve the General's stats if the ruler has already been turned into General BEFORE this event fires. If it can be done, it will be ideal!

Last stand of Christianity

For event picture I suggest one with besieged castle or something like that.

Trigger:
Must be Austria
Religion of the state must be one of Christian faith(f.e Catholic, Reformed or Protestant)(Yes I know that there can't be trigger "must be christian" but there can be trigger like this "One of the following must be true: State religion is Catholic, State religion is Reformed...)
Must be at war with Ottomans
Must own province Wien
Province Wien is under siege
Year must be at least 1600
It can trigger only once

Event text:
Ottomans were our rivals for many years. We have defended Christians of Europe from those heathens, but now... Now, we are standing on the brink of collapse. Our great nation is once again threatened, once again by the same enemy, but with bigger army. We should consider asking for help. This would surely lower our prestige in the eyes of many nations, but can save our country.

Option A:Times are hard and we must ask for any help we can get.
Lose 10 prestige
Gain 5000 manpower

Option B: We will face the challenge on our own as we did in the past!
Gain 5 prestige

(I know that this is unbalanced, I'm not good at it. I am sure that if you will be interested in this event you will change numbers a little)

May they tremble and flee!

Trigger:
The country has a ruler with 0 in mil skill.

Event Text:

Our hesitant generals have finally agreed to adopt my bold ideas! I know they thought I was crazy, that it couldn't be done! But horses are so powerful and important on the battlefield, of course we should train other animals as well! Soon our enemies will tremble and flee before our mighty forces of men and horses, goats and cows! Our army will bring horror and mayhem! Plus, we can eat some of the animals when we get hungry.

Option A: Get it off me! Get it away! This was a stupid idea.
Lose 10 Mil monarch points

Option B: It will work! You just have to train them more.
Discipline -5% for the next year.

Event Name: Talking Leaves?

Trigger: New World Tech Group
Must have a province adjacent to a nation in the Western Tech Group
Must have an alliance with nation in the Western Tech Group

Event text: When the white man first showed up on our shores, we weren't sure what to think, but years of excellent relations and trading have brought new knowledge to our tribe. A local silversmith and trader has developed what he calls "talking leaves" based off of how the white man communicates. What should we do with this invention?

Option A: It's witchcraft! We must burn this to save our people.
- Gain 10 prestige

Option B: If people like it, it will be adopted on its own!
- Gain 5 prestige
- Gain 50 adm, dip, and mil

Option C: We should teach it to our young, so they will be able to read.
- Lose 10 adm points
- Lose 5 prestige
- Increased Innovative for 10 years.

This event is based off of the Cherokee silversmith, Sequoyah, who developed the Cherokee writing system based off of the European writing system. Option A comes from a legend that his wife burned the first draft thinking it to be witchcraft. Option B comes from how Sequoyah first spread the system by teaching his daughter and showing fellow Cherokee she could actually understand it. Option C comes from what a more proactive Cherokee government could have done. While it spread quickly, it didn't spread as quickly as it could have if the government more actively spreaded it.

Title: Michel de Nostredame

Trigger: Random chance per month between 1550 and 1566, country is France, government type is Monarchy. MTTH so it triggers most of the time.

Text: An apothecary has taken it upon himself to write a book full of terrifying prophecies, written in an unusual style that is difficult to decipher. "Les Propheties" is creating quite a stir among the court - some see him as an evil servant, others see him as a charlatan. He even writes of threats to the royal family and their welfare, though his passages are vague and the nature of the threats are wrapped in mystery. While he enjoys good relations with the Church, we must decide how to react to this seer and his visions.

Choice 1: It's all rubbish! No one can foresee the future! Ignore him.
Effect: +20 Legitimacy. 50% chance heir dies.

Choice 2: Let's hear what he has to say.
Effect: -1 stability. 25% chance heir dies.

Choice 3: Have him judged by God for what he has written! Give him to the Inquisition!
Effect: +1 missionary strength for next 10 years. 50% chance heir dies.

I have quite a few ideas for a bit more interesting events and certainly more creative ones, but I think that what the game lacks the most is a little twinkle of hope when there are only bad news in all fields. We could use a spam thread with endless submissions for events without any prizes.

Event:
Patriotic nobles cannot stand idly by

Triger:

* country is at war;
* war exhaustion over 10;
* manpower below 50%;
* stability below 0;
* ruler has weak claim.

Text:

Our country is in dire distress and the king is but an infant. How can we put our trust in his regency council when we are not even sure if the babe's blood is blue? The noblest of the noble families of our country must act before it is too late!

Option A: We the People shall save the realm!
* government form changes to republic;
+2 stability.

Option B: The RIGHTFUL heir needs our unwavering support!
* legitimacy set to 100;
* heir's legitimacy set to strong (100);
+1 stability;
+1/2 of yearly income.

Option C: We need to seek alliance with God.
-> static modifiers:
+2 stability;
-10 war exhaustion;
-1/4 of yearly income;
+25 "admirable devotion" relations modifier with brothers in faith (-1 per year);
-> modifiers for catholic states:
+50 papal influence
-> modifiers for muslim states:
+25 piety;
-> modifiers that expire after 36 months: "God is with us"
+3 tolerance of the true faith;
-3 revolt risk;
-> modifiers that expire after 120 months: "God is the only truth"
+10% technology cost.

Option D: They haven't seen the best of our nation yet!
* a leader with 100 army tradition appears;
+1 stability;
-10 war exhaustion;
+1/4 base manpower.
