"We (name of culture) have a disease of the heart that only gold can cure." Hundreds of men get the 'fever' and rush off to the new colony to make their fortunes!

Event text:
When Portuguese sailors discovered the lands of Ethiopia, they initially believed they had found the legendary Kingdom of Prestor John, and began to create favorable relations between their nations. Throughout the 17th Century, Portuguese missionaries such as João Bermudes and Pedro Páez attempted to influence the Emperor of Ethiopia to adopt Catholicism and swear religious obedience to Rome, even going so far as to send a force of 400 musketeers to aid in the war against Adal. Eventually Emperor Susenyos I relented and agreed to convert, though his successor restored the native faith.

Own Catholic cores (I don't know if Catholic rebel strength can be used as a trigger)

Event text: A man has been found in the basements of the Royal Palaces, guarding a storeroom full of smuggled-in Gunpowder. Following a harsh interrogation, he has admitted his part in a Catholic plot to kill our glorious monarch. His confession has been dictated and signed, but the question remains, what should be done with this miscreant and his conspirators.

Option A: "Pardon them and send them unto exile"
-1 Stability
+10 Legitimacy
+1 Tolerance of Heretics for 10 years

Option B: "Hang them, draw them, quarter them that others might learn."
+2 Revolt risk from catholic provinces.
-1 Tolerance of Heretics for 10 years

All of these events are really good why not put all of them in the game?

Doing a few as a fun bit for a future patch is in budget but doing them all would require a not inconsiderable amount of time, effort, and resources: code, test, balance issues... Thus why I suggested a DLC: we effectively hire Paradox to code/test the content we wish to be added to the game. However, someone who dislike the idea of more events can still play the base game without missing anything.

Note: I am in no way whatsoever in the know of what Paradox does internally. This is just guess work based on my experience...

Trigger:

Denmark has less then 30 gold in the treasury, Denmark has a Royal Marriage with Scotland, Norway is in a Personal Union with Denmark and still own the Shetland Islands province. The year is before 1500. Optional: Norways relation to Denmark is less then 100+.


Event text:

The dowry of his majesty's daughter Margrethe, betrothed to King X.X. of the Scots, is becoming a troubblesome burden for our treasury. The Scots have offered us an interesting proposal. A pledge of the norwegian Hjaltland Islands would solve the problems arround this payment.


Option A: What a splendid idea. Pawn those Godforsaken islands!

Effect: The Shetland Islands becomes a part of Scotland, relations to Norway -50 for 30 years.


Option B: This will upset our norwegian council. We choose to pay the dowry in gold.

Effect: Lose 100 gold, lose 25 diplomatic power, gain 25+ relations to Norway for 15 years.


Option C: The scottish king must be mad! He will never have my daughters hand.

Effect: The royal marriage with Scotland is broken, lose 1 stability.



NB!

We can also concider renaming the Shetland Islands to Hjaltland in the 1444 start. If the scots undertake the province it will be renamed the Shetlands.

but as we have mentioned before there is definitly a chance that additional contestant entries will be included in the game further along the way!

Text: It happens again and again. Everytime I try to suggest something to the council they look down and evade answer. I know they think I'm incapable of ruling the country, they call me blunt martinet behind my back. They think I can only parade and feast with simple soldiers. I have to do something.

Option A: I do not care about them. Start the parade!

Option B: I'll show them who rules in this country even if it will be the last thing I do.

A prestigious member of the court has uncovered old tomes of judgement written by a particularly revered member of our dynasty detailling the correct way to rule and run a realm to the utmost efficiency. While dusty and old it may still contain valuable advice for the current monarch, who, as the court agrees, appears in dire need of some such guidance. However, searching for and restoring the tome might cost the state a fortune.
