Hey all,

I've been away for about six months and just started a new game in 1.4.
Few things I've noticed.

Construction ships - it seems possible to give two or more ships the same build order now. I've looked in the patch notes but I can't see this. What happens to the resources if one ship gets there first, is it just refunded or is this a bug ?

Occupying armies - Early on in my game I had a little war with neighbour - very early in fact we only had two planets each. I managed to invade and occupy his none homeworld planet, and this made him just sit his fleet above the planet bombarding it endlessly which was great as it kept his fleet away from me. Two strange things happened that caused me to reload the game a few times. Firstly, the enemy planet I was occupying became "decolonised" and all my armies just vanished. I never saw an AI do this before indeed I didn't know it was possible, I had no messages about it or anything it just went "poof" and gone. The second odd thing is my armies kept on EMBARKING on their own and then dying to his orbital fleet. This happened a few times despite never been given the embark order by me. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thank you :)

I'm not sure about the construction ships but I might have an explanation for what's going on with your troops. Orbital bombardment has a chance of killing pops at certain settings. Because the war was early he most likely had a handful of pops on the planet at most. With the long bombardment he probably ended up killing all te pops on the planet causing it to be decolonized. I'm not sure what happens to troops stationed on the planet but I think they wil just disappear or more likely, embark.

That's well thought of thanks! Makes perfect sense now when I check the reloaded game hence the not always happening. I admit I never had war this early before it was almost immediately begun and we literally couldn't even damage each others' starbases so it was a bit slow except for that one planet I occupied.

Thanks again.

Would still like to know re: construction ships.

I would report it as a bug, as dug in troops should stay dug in.

Construction ships have always been able to do this, they just avoid it by default. I assumed it would move the construction faster, but I have not managed to really test it fully.
