I just installed TT today after having it sitting around for a long time. Just an aside here, but I think that COTN was much better. You had more options for countries, events were more common, and it seemed like everything was more self-explanatory. Alas, my copy has been missing for many months :( .

Anyway, I started up 1337 as Navarra, thinking that I could conquer some Spanish provinces to build up my strength before heading up into Burgundy and Orleans. The first month passed, and I was demoted to 'the Incompetent'. Of course, I've been playing Paradox games for years, and I was used to the equalization of VPs at the beginning of the game (ala EU2). However, this loss kept happening every month, and in fact increased with each passing month, so that it's currently 1339, and I'm losing about 6 VPs a month.

I thought that going on campaign might stop this loss, so I DoWed Armagnac, and conquered them in about 8 months. This halved my negative VPs (down to 65 or so), but the loss continued completely unabated. I've looked at the other factions VPs with F1, and the leader (France or England, I think) is up to 900-something. At -130, I'm at least 300 VPs below everyone else.

This seems like a crippling error, and I was wondering if anyone else has run into this, and what I can do about it. Otherwise, my very shortlived fling (20 minutes) with TT is over, and I'm going back to Crusader Kings :p
