@Divine: I've made Lux Invicta as bug free as humanly possible, and have no idea what is causing the player's crashes, as I have never been able to repeat them. My suspicion is that we're just hitting the memory wall, between our larger maps, greater number of provinces and larger building chains. Could you do some profiling to see if there is something I've overlooked?

Are their any plans to cut provinces out/reduce map size ?.

I know it would be annoying but it is a possible solution along with potentially stripping out mechanics that are less integral or so.

I know building chains are getting streamlined if I recall?

Streamlining buildings dose that mean reducing?:eek:, although could that be the problem when all the NPC try build buildings in all those many provinces? like an overload?

I'm glad to hear work is going on with this awesome mod, I and six others really want to play this mod, so I'll check often to see if you've made any progress.

Thanks to Divine's advice, I have a possible fix for the crashing. Please replace events/childbirth_events.txt with the attached file. Test it out and see if you get fewer crashes.

I can confirm that this fixes things a good deal.

An observe game running while I was in bed made it till 1173 before crashing and that may have been due to my computer doing some kind of anti-virus scan or something since when I got back it on in the morning it was all weird.

Will test with a player game now :).

I played for around 5 years without a single crash, althogh the game seems to run a bit slower (which might also be because of the rollback to 2.4.5 or something like that).
Didn't have time yet to do a longer test, but it seems to help. Thank you for the fix, now I can finally continue my Sinai game :)

more like merging the effects of redundant buildings (in a bid to help the mod's crawling performance with the engine - hell, I'm having trouble even getting to start recently) when possible than reducing them really, though due to the criss-cross of buildings requirements (partly from Shaytana's design, partly my fault of furthering complexity) it'd need a lot more work than just combining some.
I'm still relatively unable to continue as of now, but I might eventually be able to. soon. probably.

Thanks to Divine's advice, I have a possible fix for the crashing. Please replace events/childbirth_events.txt with the attached file. Test it out and see if you get fewer crashes.

Thanks for this, I've played 20years with no crashes or bugs or lag.

more like merging the effects of redundant buildings (in a bid to help the mod's crawling performance with the engine - hell, I'm having trouble even getting to start recently) when possible than reducing them really, though due to the criss-cross of buildings requirements (partly from Shaytana's design, partly my fault of furthering complexity) it'd need a lot more work than just combining some.
I'm still relatively unable to continue as of now, but I might eventually be able to. soon. probably.

alright good to see you haven't given up, this mod is so damn big! (in a good way big!)

i have not seen any "crawling performance" dose that come later in the game? as in around a certain date?

nah, part of the blame is my aging rig really. I have a E7400 Core2Duo I slightly OC and 4GB RAM (yes, just 4GB. I'm having trouble buying matching-speed RAM cards since they've been phased out long ago). So it's no wonder CK2 crawls with it - even pure vanilla stutters for me when I tried running it a bit a few days ago.

though even with a contemporary build, Lux Invicta will still start to lag anyway at around a century or two in. though it wasn't that bad a couple of years back (I still recall playing up to 3 or 4 centuries with hardly any lag in my last full/serious campaign ... roughly around December 2014 ^_^ ).

This has worked most spectacularly in regard to the CTD crashes (though they were not regular).However, there seems to be increase in non-CTD crashes, where the screen freezes and the only solution is to shut down the computer. Is there any way to fix these? My specs are:

OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.5
iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Startup Disc Macintosh HD
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB

Sounds like a computer rather then Lux issue, my laptop used to have the same problem before I scrapt it, my current one doens't.
