I made this post because i think that the consort's personality should affect your country even if they are not leading it currently, for example in this game as the French i have a consort that has the fertile personality (which gives +50% chance of a new heir) but it does not effect my chance to get an heir, which in my humble opinion doesn't make sense. I think that making the consorts personality affect your country would be a nice addition to the game! Keep in mind that the consort can only have one personality ( If he's not leading a realm ).

P.S: If someone knows about a mod that makes this happen, can you please write the name of it in the replies? I would really appreciate it! Also i know i've made this post a while back but just noticed i posted in the wrong category so it might've not gotten so much attention

i totally agree with this. It always felt weird that the queen/king consort never had any effect when in reality co-ruled with the main ruler. Her/His traits would definitely play a role to the nation. I wonder why devs havent already implemented it this way and made it a one way thing

Oh yes! I was planning on making this same suggestion myself, haha. Though I would further propose that the consort get a full three personality traits, all of which are applied to your kingdom. This isn't a buff, since consorts can get bad traits.

Something else that might be interesting, and I think has historical basis, is to cede power to a consort or adult heir, allowing you to use their stats instead of the monarch's. It could have some qualifications -- for instance a constant drain on prestige and legitimacy, and maybe even an effective reduction in the stats, so you would only do it if your consort/heir is way better than your monarch.

In your example, yes. However, it makes no sense for a trait like righteous, careful, or craven (for example) to impact the nation, since those seem tied more to the ruling of the country than being a person.

Sure? I think it would be a bit better if they got 2, since there's always the possibility of getting into a long regency (or having a really good regent/really bad heir).

I assume you mean temporarily, over wise this sounds an awful lot like "abdication allowed at any time." I like the idea, I'm not sure if it's any better than the current system (if you have an adult heir, you just abdicate. Otherwise, your ruler suddenly starts fighting really difficult battles.)

Consorts participated in the ruling of a country. Strictly speaking, some of their traits should be applied and some shouldn't, and it would very with sex -- a prince consort's being brave/cowardly would be much more be likely to inspire/discourage a nation's army than a queen consort's, for instance; whereas a queen's being "sinful" would likely be a much bigger drag on the country's prestige than a king/prince consort. However I think since subtleties are a bit too much for the current system.

(Yes, I know that Sinful impacts TF Tol not Prestige in-game.)

Sure? I think it would be a bit better if they got 2, since there's always the possibility of getting into a long regency (or having a really good regent/really bad heir).

What do you mean, "if they got two?" As it stands consorts get one, then get two more if they become a regent, for a total of three. I'm saying they should have three while consort, unlocked as they age as normal, and their effects be applied to the nation for better or worse.

Abdication should be allowed if the heir is old enough; forcing you to wait x number of years is artificial and I'm not a fan. Howsoever... I concede about the heir. Even though it was customary to involve heirs in governance, I suppose for game purposes there's not a lot of reason to add that.

Consorts are somewhat different, I feel. Certainly irl there's a huge difference between abdicating and letting your spouse run the administration. In-game the difference would be no loss of stability and keeping the personalities of the current ruler and consort.
