.Aside from console, I often frequently edited savegames to give major European AI nations like Portugal, Holland/Netherlands, France, Castile/Spain, Teutonic Order/Prussia, Sweden, etc. their treasury a major boost, usually something like 500k added to it. How many of you have done this and for what reason? I usually do this to keep them going strong. And sometimes to prolong wars if possible, as it's often too expensive for them to keep wars going for so long.
I even edited savegames to add almost all major European powers not yet involved into a war over something, even if they're not allied with any of original war participants, to kind of simulate a world war in Europe like Seven Years War or major European conflicts like Thirty Years War.![]()

Tag switching is dangerous - giving AI control overy my nation often ends up with it building stuff I don't want, taking decisions I don't want and doing other things I don't like to my country..
I did something like that, but I never edit my savegame, it is much simplier to tag switch and type cash cheat many times

For me it's exactly the sam feeling when you come back to your room and someone else cleaned it up for you and now you can't find anything!
Some things doesn't work like that, for example, when you are at war and you switch to your opponent and propose your old country peace treaty, you can't just go back and accept it, at least one day has to pass - if you get back immediately, this treaty won't be proposed. There are few things like that.Of course, but can't you just pause while you are tag switching? That's what I do.

I tried doing it in EU3 NA, maybe something changed later, I don't know. Are you sure about that? I've done that before at least in V2 without any problems.
Yes it is. Watching your war-ravaged empire implode is just far too painful, the occasional 'stability', 'infamy -12' or 'annex REB' is just far too tempting for anybody who cares for the hours they've spent building up the game to see it go out the door but cheapens it oh so much. It's not that hard.

Sometimes I'll use the console to "correct" what I legitimately feel is an unrealistic scenario, but that's just me.
