Well since I learnt the console was apparently hardcoded in EUIII and couldn't be disabled, could there please include an option to disable it in EUIV for people who can't resist the temptation?

If you don't know the console commands it isn't. So, the solution would be to don't learn them in the first placeSave game editing is far less accessible than hitting the ~ key. You have plenty of time to realize what you are doing!
I have no problem controlling my urges when it comes to more important matters than gaming...
I'm just suggesting that an option be included for those who want it, most games disable it by default and have an option to enable for those who want it. It's really not a big ask programming wise and I don't understand why I'm being criticized for it.![]()
Somebody already suggested that! (was it you?)
Not ideal since there is a button underneath the key anyway.
I still don't get why people are trying to argue with me in a suggestion thread, but ok then!

I don't see how not clicking the "enable the console" in options makes it harder not to cheat.
Bar adding about three more clicks.
The console isn't primarily meant for cheating, but for debugging the game. It's very useful for testing for potential bugs and also to help create mods.
