I found that with IN, ALT+21 no longer worked. I had to use ALT+167 instead. With HttT, ALT+21 works again. I still wish they would map it to ` (or ~), though.

I see it has a real numpad but did you try Alt+k+j with and without Fn pressed?
Have you experimented with opening notepad and trying various ways to generate a § ?

Fn is a key you normally only find on laptops; it's used to enable extra functions of keys since laptop keyboards normally don't have all the keys of a desktop. Also Fn combined with function keys usually does things on a laptop like hibernate, WiFi radio on/off, switch between internal and external display, etc. In this case it is used to activate the numeric keypad 'embedded' in the normal keyboard since most laptops don't have a dedicated numpad.

With a desktop keyboard I don't know why the normal Alt-21 would stop working. As I asked Jayavarman earlier, have you tried opening notepad and seeing if you can generate a § there using Alt-21 or Alt-0167?

I don't remember if Windows has this feature or not, but I think you can edit the keyboard layout and change the `\~ key to be the section sign. I would have to do that in Linux if I wanted to get it to work, because the usual combo there does not appear to work (there it's Ctrl + Shift + u00a7).

Try ALT+0167 (i.e. type 0167 on the number pad while holding down the ALT key).

22 bit signed integers? That's about the only thing that would make sense, but even that makes no sense whatsoever. If that were the case, this is the behavior you would get, because as you overflow the integer, it basically is reset to its lowest value, which in this case would be negative.

§ or section symbol is only on apples. it is located where the tilda (~) is, which usually opens the console. if you don't have it you can type it by typing alt 21, but only on the numpad. Paradox, should make it so the tilda opens the console as well.

Actually, § exists on all Scandinavian keyboards. Apple or not.

Well, it could be 32-bit signed integers. With the decimal part counting as integers, so that e.g. 2 is actually stored as 2000.
