Console?

Ive ran into a problem. Im told the console is ALT+21 on the numpad but it doesnt work... is there something im missing? ~ doesnt work either.

If you're using a laptop it's: ALT+Fn+1+2 (usually under the letters J and K or somewhere around there)
If you are using a desktop it's: ALT+1+2 (on the num pad area to the right of your directional arrows)
If you're using a Mac then use what is said above.

Im pretty sure it was always alt+21 and that used to work but since i patched the game alt+21 or alt+12 has no efect. Ive got it to work once but im clueless as to what i did.

Mine only works with pressing the § key, which is the 6-key on my keyboard (using an AZERTY, i live in Belgium)

Alt + 21 still works for me. Although I actually hold alt then hit 2 then 1 on the numpad. "alt +21" always seems like it means press them all at once to me.

Then you should have a § key. It's the one right under the Esc key, above Tab, left of 1.

I keep forgetting it's different for american keyboards, damn My bad.

Works fine on my laptop with 4.1b (although I need to use numlock):
Fn-NumLock
Alt-k-j
Fn-NumLock

As DR described, the 'Alt-21' in detail means:
press and hold 'Alt'
press and release numpad '2'
press and release numpad '1'
release 'Alt'

Alt-0167 usually works as well. It's basically whatever keys you would need to hit to generate a § in a text document.

I'm also using an American keyboard and ~ won't work, but, luckily, Alt21 does.

alt 21 for me is not the § key. In fact, NONE OF THEM ARE. so something is wrong with my computer, where can i go to fix this?

Tried with and without NumLock?
I see it has a real numpad but did you try Alt+k+j with and without Fn pressed?
Have you experimented with opening notepad and trying various ways to generate a § ?
