On Consoles there is no way to go to war with other empires help unless in a federation. It ruins 90% of the games I play and 100% of the multiplayer ones. To invite people you need to be “allies”. BUT THERE IS NO “Allies” IN THE GAME, other than federation. Even if federations were the only way to have empires help you in offensive wars that would be broken. This is a strategy game no?

You realise 99% of the wars especially early game are “Hey, We don’t like you much, and you don’t like us. But we have a common enemy so wanna help us kill them?”. We can’t do this anymore and it’s so boring. Especially against Hard AI and devouring swarms. I don’t wanna make weird deals with people I have no business with. I just wanna work with them to kill the threat?! I really hope this can be looked into and fixed as I and many others I play with are getting bored of not being able to help in wars.

I found two different ways to start a war. 1) Make a claim on their system, thenn conac them again with declare war. 2)offe to make them your vassal then declare war.

I have noticed this as well.
The Ai has asked me for war assistance but i can not ask them.

Yeah Glad I’m not the only one. I always get asked by them even when we arnt friends. Yet when I try it’s a nope. Apparently there’s some PC mechanic where you can pay 3 influence a month for an alliance with someone instead of making federations, however I can’t confirm this, but it would make sense that they forgot to remove the mechanic out of the game on the war side.

lol I went to close borders and rival an empire that did the same to me, but I rivaled the wrong wrong empire. This created two enemies and they both teamed up against me but I won the war and enforced a bunch of claims

I believe that you may need to be in a defensive pact or federation before you can invite to wars but I also haven't successfully pulled it off. Option has never been there. I don't know if your allies also need a Casus Belli to help you out but that seems like it shouldn't be necessary.

Not that any of this matters that much anyway because I'm finding the AI to be hopeless in this version. Even dumber than in 1.7. They'll expand quickly enough but I'm in the 2380s on my current game and the biggest AI fleet I've encountered that wasn't an FE was 23k and I am on Grand Admiral difficulty. The FEs on the other hand each have at least 300k fleet power total over their whole navy. Even if I could enlist an ally to assist with my subjugation of the FE, they'd be utterly worthless to the war effort.

Yeah later game it’s not about power for me either it’s more the fun of it :(. And nope still can’t in a defensive pact. Again this 99% chance is a bug as just like always and how it should be, the AI can invite you to a war against someone you hate even if they themselves are not even friendly with you.

This is a big problem to us, it and a very bad IA are ruined the game, ia very sad, i have got all dlcs and i will to buy the nexts, i love this game, but i need see this game run perfect, please paradox or any mod, look him
