Hi, I was wondering if the console UI/gamepad support was going to be/is already patched into the PC version of the game what with the actual release on Xbox One fast approaching. I know a lot of people don't care about it and there are inevitably going to be angry people shouting at me, but I'm just looking for an option, not for ya'll to remove anything else.

So just wondering, thanks!

I don't believe it's happening. It would require transfering the whole new UI to the PC version. And from what I have seen the controller doesn't seem like the most pleasant way to build.

Right, but depending on the code base and what not, the difficulty of doing this isn't known to either of us, only the developers know that. Plenty of games manage to put controller support in after they've come out consoles.

Mostly, I'm interested in hearing if a dev has talked about this, or how to get a dev to address the question!

Why would you want this? Have you ever played a city builder on a controller? A Mouse/Keyboard is always going to be the preferred control method. Games released on the original PS One and Sega Saturn of this genre pretty much all included optional mouse support. I'm not saying a controller can't work, but it's just never as intuitive. Of course, since MS won't allow you to plug a keyboard or mouse into it's native USB ports , there isn't really a better option for the console version. But I can't see there being a huge demand for people to play a game with worse controls on a PC personally.

1. It shouldn't matter to you why I want it.
2. If you read my posts, yes I've played many city builders on a controller.

Anyway, it's great that you prefer mouse and keyboard but I'm not asking them to remove your mouse and keyboard support, so I don't know why this matters to you at all. My point is that the work is done to add a controller UI with the console versions and I'm inquiring as to the viability of getting that code in the PC version. Some devs have the code so similar it's not an issue at all. Some are built completely differently and I understand why it doesn't happen in that case.

This is just me asking.

And for your future reference, not everybody CAN use a mouse and keyboard. There are millions of people with disabilities that cannot use a mouse and keyboard for various reasons. Me, personally, I sit at my computer all day for my job and I like to play games on the couch with a controller. Fortunately, many feel the same way, which is why controller support is so widespread these days.

Hope you have a lovely day, but honestly, this topic had nothing to do with you.
