Just out of curiosity, how many hours would you estimate you've played this game?

Well, I bought the game about a month after it was initially released on PS4. I got on the PS Store one day just to see what new games were out there and to my surprise I saw a city building game. I love simulator games and always loved Sim City. First played that on Nintendo way back in the day, so I was happy to see one created for PS4. In most every way I’d say the concept behind Cities Skylines is way better than Sim City ever was.

As far as how much time I’ve played this game since I got it almost a year ago...I honestly have no idea. I do know I haven’t spent as much time playing it as I’ve wanted to. Reason? All the constant freakin bugs and broken game play mechanics after every single expansion release and patch. New bugs caused trying to fix existing ones. Patch 5.01 is prime example. A decent list of game bugs fixed, but new ones created in the process. How much time have I played since patch 5.01? ZERO!!

Maybe the better question is, “how much time haven’t you played this game?” Answer = way more than I have played due to constant bugs that makes the game not fun to play.

I have no doubt this is an amazing city building game, once the programmers graduate high school and figure out what their doing and fix this game once and for all. Like I said, I have yet to play this game bug free that doesn’t have some critical issue with it. I’d say the game being stuck in 3x speed is a pretty big screw up, and my build style can’t keep up with the game going that fast. I like to take my time, build slow and enjoy the game.

I wish I could roll back this latest update. The only big problem I noticed before was the game randomly crashed on me for no reason, like many others, but since I have the game set to auto save it wasn’t too big of a deal. I’d rather deal with that occasional problem than this constant game speed issue.

I bought the season pass and the one expansion I looked forward to the most was Mass Transit. But sadly I haven’t got a whole lot of enjoyment out of this game over the past year due to the constant bugs, waiting for them to be fixed, all for new ones to be created.

So while I don’t know the exact hours I’ve played, I’ve played enough to know this is ridiculous at this point and I’m still waiting for critical bugs to get fixed rather than enjoying playing like I should be.

Hopefully that answers your question.

What relevance does how many hours I’ve played have anything to do with the trend of issues I’ve experienced since purchasing this game? What does my game hours played have anything to do with the history of bugs and problems this game has had?

Curious as to what point you’re trying to get at.

So, any word on a delivery date for a patch? What is your experience regarding these kind of things?
What I can tell you is that usually when there is a big problem on a just released patch we immediately take care of it. We can't be sure exactly when it is going to be available, but it will not take too long, I am quite sure of that!

I've been playing from launch. And I honestly fail to see the problem with the speed thing. Who plays on x1 speed anyway.

I'd say there isn't even a problem.

I personally laugh when someone says it's unplayable.

Now I've to worrie these guys fixing it and breaking something else.

It's the snapping that make's it unplayable for me, the speed issue is an inconvenience that can be lived with... for now. It is however more of a pertinent issue for others. I play often on the slowest speed, I like to see everything moving at normal speed as do many others No need for laughter Mr I'm All Right Jack. The game has been unintentionally changed re the speed issue and for many it dulls their usually great Cities experience

I play on 1x speed, what’s wrong with 1x speed? I like to see transportation moving about at a realistic speed, I like to see pedestrians move about at a realistic speed and I like to see buildings build as slow as possible.

I don’t like things happening so fast it looks like I’m in a time warp or that I’m trying to speed build. I build a new section of my city then I sit back and enjoy watching it grow along with taking the time to analyze data and my budget. Also to take my time to strategize how I want to build the next section of my city, or make modifications.

Kudos to you for enjoying playing in a faster speed, but that doesn’t mean we should all have too. The game had 3 speeds to happily accommodate everyone’s play style. The one I enjoyed is broke and I don’t think there is anything wrong with asking for it to be fixed. For me personally I’d like to see the day ticker in the lower left corner count the days even slower than it did.

The reason that the game has three speeds is so that everyone can enjoy it, personally I like to take my time and that the transport speed and pedestrians move is the closest thing to reality, now they all seem to run when you approach the zoom of the camera, it is not pleasant and loses realism.

Surely there are many styles of game but for that there are three speeds. The people accustomed to accelerate the game does not affect them but to us who play in 1x this is not nice, a game must be designed for everyone not only for a some people.

I cant play the game from the patch, the speed of the game is a very important issue for me and surely for other people too, not as some mention that it is not an important issue, because it decreases the gameplay and the desire to play is lost.

But that's the thing. It doesn't look broken.

It looks fine. To me. Yea time goes abit faster. But I don't notice the big speed increase.

Traffic looks the same aswell.

Then I would say your experience is different from mine.

As soon as the 5.01 patch installed and I launched my saved city, the first thing I noticed were the cars and pedestrians were moving a lot faster than normal, and so was the day counter in the lower left corner. Cars on the interstates looked like they was going 200 mph and cars on intercity roads looked to be going 60mph. On intercity roads, when a delivery van turned a corner, it looked like it was going to topple over. Pedestrians looked like they was running everywhere going super fast. Same when I placed residential zones, they built up within 3-5 seconds compared to the 30+ seconds it normally takes in normal speed. So it’s not just the timer in the lower left corner running faster when on normal speed setting, the entire game is running faster by default.

I thought maybe the game was having an issue with my saved city file, so I started a brand new city on a blank map, but same problem. So it’s the game itself, not a bad saved file.

You don’t seem to be experiencing the same issue the rest of us are.

I agree with everything you said. Obviously this is personal preference and some people enjoy playing the game at a faster speed, but I do not. Like you, I like cars and pedestrians to move about the map at a realistic speed.

If I had it my way, I’d take it a step further have buildings take longer to build in normal mode. It would take 2 game weeks for homes to build, and a game month for industry and skyscrapers to build so its more realistic. But I know that’s asking too much and won’t happen.

I’d just be happy if they fix 1x mode back to the way it was before patch 5.01

Maybe let 1 day become even longer. But , let dream be dreams. . .
