I remember seeing the Consecrated World Ascension Perk, but all it does is set a world to be a holy world.

Not sure what that means, but the only thing I can think of is that you get a lot of Unity or Influence. It's also possible that the world increases mitigation to it or something along those lines.

Another thing is that I believe it needs Spiritualist.

What does everything about this Ascension Perk? Is it worth it (especially for roleplaying purposes) or not?

It's an excuse for war at least for fallen empires (if you settle holy worlds it angers the spiritualist one) (possible means for a fanatical pacifist , spiritualist to cede a planet?) also does it say "sets one world" or "allows to set holy worlds" in the latter it's really cool in the former it's meh.also I don't know what benefits holy worlds have/mechanics they allow. All I know is it seems good for role playing at least.

But they do exist already.

I only know for sure that colonizing holy worlds will please the spiritualist faction and will also increases its ethos attraction. Ironically the opposite how Fallen Empires handle it.

btw: Spiritualists of the players empire will be displeased if you colonize tomb worlds (all being like it would be a vialotion of a grave)

That makes sense. It's like being an apartment complex over a American Civil War graveyard. Who would want to live there!?

I wonder if colonizing a Tomb World will anger other spiritualist nations (or if you meet a nation that has colonized a Tomb World and you're a spiritualist will it anger you?).

This also brings up the question about presentient life forms you can uplift who live on a Tomb World. Does uplifting them upset the Spiritualist faction? Can you colonize other Tomb Worlds with just that species and nothing else and not anger the spiritualists in your empire?

Seems that Utopia has a lot of plot holes in it. ;P

Ahem....

Another concern is what happens when another empire takes over that holy planet: does it get major negative modifiers because you and other spiritualist nations are furious over the desecration of your holy world?

There is also the possibility that having a holy World will also increase attraction to Spiritualist ethos. Which I guess is a good thing.

But I usually play as a spiritualist nation so that's good for me!

Where did you hear that? This is the last I am aware we heard about Consecrated Worlds:
Q: Dan_DanielLP : What does the planetary edict from the acsencion perk do?
A: Wizzington : Consecrated worlds affects happiness and growth. It's an expensive but extremely long lasting edict.
Quoted from here.

I think that's the entire reason why spiritualist FE hate you for colonizing those words. Although I never quite understood the temptation. Who would draw a FE ire just to colonize some useless 9 tiles gaia moon? Sometimes they are bigger, but still gaia are not that valuable. Maybe if these worlds were somehow connected to shroud, or had unique modifiers... Also ironically awakened spiritualists tend to colonize holy worlds.

Consecrated Worlds Edict gives the planet you've colonized (including capitol) +10% happiness, -10% growth time, and +15% unity output. All of these modifiers last for 100 years, it costs 240 influence. I personally find it worthwhile, if you have a lot of influence generation or low mineral income.

Yeah, it's not quite permanent, but it's so long lasting you can easily keep that up on at least 3-4 planets constantly. More if you have plenty of influence.

Its base cost is 300 Influence, but this can be brought down by at least one technology and by your leader's skill level.

I took it as my first ascension perk. I am playing a fanatic xenophobe + spiritualist with food specialization. I currently have the edict up on every one of my planets (8 in total). You really can't beat it in terms of efficiency compared to any other influence sink. The growth time is damn good and the happiness makes all my factions happy. It pays for itself easily.

If you are playing a spiritualist empire, I would say it is a strong contender for perk 1 or 2 if you have lots of influence. There aren't many great picks at the start and I liked the flavor it.
