Just played my first game with the CoP-DLC as England.
First colonies formed in northern America. But each Colony has its own merchants and grows unrest or the will to seperate from the mother nation. So my income from trade decreases since the new colonies have their own merchants and intend on keeping the trade value in the new world.
So forming colonies means less income (a bit from colonial taxes) but more trouble? Before CoP i owned a huge Britain with huge armies/fleet payed by the Trade income reaching London and not having trouble in overseas. I like the idea of colonies beeing patronised nations but with these mechanics colonising seems like a waste of money , or am i wrong at some point?
