Conquering foreign occupied land...

Hi community,

I play as (non-allies) USA and Japan (co-prosperity sphere) has occupied parts of Dutch East Indies (allies). If I now attack those countries will I
a) get that land and occupy it myself?
b) hand it back to Dutch East Indies automatically
c) something else?

If you're not in their faction you should be able to keep the land for some time, however once the war ends it will probably got back to the Dutch East Indies.
