conquered worlds with planets you cant live on(low habitability)

im trying to play a devouring swarm and am trying to play aggressive, so i go to war early with my nieghbour and conquer his main world. This issue is that im a dessert habitability, the world i conquerd was a wet planet. Is there a way you can conquer a world but not have your pop live on it? just simply take over the system and thats it?

It was possible pre-LeGuin; demolish the capital and resettle any complete pops of your species. Presumably you also slaughter or purge the conquered species.

Why habitation modules for inhospiable worlds haven't been introduced as a thing I don't know. They'd be relatively expensive and provide for a limited population, but if you need to adapt the environment to you rather than adapting to the environment . . .

Paradise domes are still a thing though it is far less clear what advantages, if any, they confer.

I don't think so. In one game I stupidly colonised the wrong habitable world in a system. Pre-LeGuin I could have abandoned the colony (re-settled the colonist pop and demolished the ship shelter), but instead I had to 'alter the timeline', e.g. go back a save or two.

You can resettle the entire population to one of your planets and the ocean planet will be abandoed. Your people dont have to live there then. And so you can purge. I tried it but of course need lots of troops to combat rebellion. And crime will jump sky high. Could spread out the purged population on several planets to speed it up or else will take forever if purged pops are only on one planet.

Sounds like I would activate the pow growth stop for now )or just pay the extra cost? Might be worth it) and rush the habitability+gene modding techs.

Or you could roleplay as the first Tyranids that are picky eaters of course :)

As a hive mind you can safely ignore habitibility, since you have no consumer goods costs to be increased by it. The food increase is essentially irrelevant, and the amenities should be manageable.

This is already simulated with the higher consumer goods use.

I never played a devouring swarm, so this is probably irrelevant, but in a normal empire the land appropriation policy is by default on, meaning a heavy immigration pull to the newly conquered world.

The fix is to turn it off, and then probably you wont have your pops move there before its purged and thus un-colonized.

so i guess you just have to ressetle any living pops on the conquered world and purge all the rest..... does selling the building work to, or demolish becasue there is such a high energy upkeep
Well I never tried that but I don't see any reasons you couldn't demolish the buildings. I'm pretty sure they auto demolish once you remove everyone.
