i clicked through the military tutorial, but did not find any information how to conquer a country.

i declared war on a smaller country
i beat all its forces
i won all occupied all its territories (after 100 and some days)

but still this country does exist and rejects my "peace" offer of annexing it :)

what do i have to do to integrate these provinces in my country?

Is it a lesser partner in an alliance? If so, you will have to defeat the leader of the alliance first

I have yet to play V2, but perhaps it has to do with your war goal?

yes, you can only demand what was set as a war goal. You can add additional war goals when a war goes well for you, but if not reaching it, it will have consequences.

It's your shot and makes you think real good what you really want before starting a war.

Yep, it's a pretty interesting conquest/annexation system that makes it a lot more difficult to nibble away at bigger states taking a province or two at a time to weaken them before complete annexation some twenty years later.

i found out what was missing!

i occupied 2 of the provinces, but they had 3! :)
so when i occupied the third, they accepted my peace offer ;-)

can i somewhere see how many provinces a state has got?
