I currently cannot join any online multiplayer game. Whenever I do, the game simply freezes (including mouse) and I have to ctrl-alt-del back to desktop. Firewalls (Windows and ZoneAlarm) are off, port forwarding is set up properly.

I have two ISPs running on a custom-built pfSense router and I too have problems with Dungeonland...I can connect to *some* online games, but not my friends, who live in the same state as me. Ports are forwarded OK and everything, I can run other servers on the ports fine. I tried temporarily disabling one WAN port, rebooting the router, etc. and it's all intermittent if I can connect at all.

I hope this connection problem is sorted soon as I had pre ordered the 4 pack from steam and gifted this game to 3 my friends and we rly can't play much together cause we can only connect to one of us (sometimes).

Which is odd since we have connected ok to other games like Warlock: Masters of the Arcane etc

Unhappy customer here. I bought the game instantly today so I could play with my friends, who were already playing it.

So we set up a new game so I could join in but...nope. I couldn't connect. If I click play and play online I can't connect to ANY game.

Yes, I have checked my port/firewall 25002 etc. I have browsed the forums, I have spend several hours already trying to fix this, but still nothing.

To boot windows tells me it shut down the game after I already shut it down, like there was some kind of error.

The sole reason I paid for this was so I could play with my friends, and this isn't working, and for them it is. And they are in the same country even. This is highly frustrating!

edit: now my friends have same issues. We are considering asking for our payment back, unless there is a fix coming? It's crazy that I have to mess around with ports and other complicated things for a game that I bought. A game I paid money for, where you expect I can at least play with friends online, which is the main thing of the game itself.

If you take a look at the ports used, then the local port reported in the log is one bigger than the port shown by wireshark.

A potential fix for this while the main issue is hunted down would be to add a LAN option for connection, where those with connection troubles could use a virtual LAN to bypass the issue. My friends and I actually tried setting up a Hamachi server which seemed to work intermittently. As a college student who lives on campus I am limited to my firewall for what I can change, making me feel like a dog reaching for a steak a foot out of the range of its leash.

Just a thought from someone with the same issue.

Thanks for the Wireshark idea, herumon! Doing some sniffing with Wireshark now, it seems, for one thing, for some of the people I can't connect to they have a *private* IP listed in the packet as the destination (example: 192.168.0.119) , which doesn't make sense over the Internet. May want to show the devs this -- https://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/ScriptReference/Network.TestConnection.html -- and make sure they double-check if the IP is a "bogon" (private IP on the Internet) and refuse to list it if it is. Inspecting the packets confirms Dungeonland is erroneously listing private IPs.

I enabled NAT Reflection on my own router, but that hasn't solved my own problems having others connect to me and me connecting to my friends.

(and no, these IPs don't even have the right subnet for my own LANs)

I am also seing alot of 'Receiving NAT punchthrough attempt from target XXXXXXXXXXXX failed', ip's and port (25002) associated with the attempt corresponds to the people trying to connect to my server...

from the logs i can see that the connection the connection test results in 'LimitedNATPunchthroughSymmetric':

Binding to local socket 0.0.0.0
Sending NAT type detection request, local port 60222
Returning nat detection result to the user
Connection test done: LimitedNATPunchthroughSymmetric

you guys seeing the same results in your output_log.txt files?

Also, i am unfamiliar with how unity does binding, but 0.0.0.0 might connect to the local ip, this might be connected to what you guys are observing in wireshark?

Hmm, I wonder what would happen if you force ports 25001-25003 (or any other observable ports) to port 25002 in the router on both sides would change anything ;D

some quick'n'dirty googling around the NAT Punchthrough subject gets me some results where people (when setting up master servers and such) observe that the connection attempt is one digit off (in our case 25001/25003), no idea why this would be, might be some rules that runs when there isn't a "perfect" connection

Hmm, damn, changing it that way isn't really an option for me (looks like the instructions are to set it to any port, I need to be able to divert them). I'm not the only one who's behind this router that needs services... And disabling the router firewall isn't something I am willing to do just to game DungeonLand...

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but it sounds awesome.

The thing is though, I don't want to go through all the effort of finding a fix or changing settings/opening ports and such. I expect that if I buy a game to play with friends it just works. I realize settings might be different on computers, but still, it seems to be affecting more people. I wish we'd get an official patch or answer to what they are going to do about this.
